Cold Turkey
Don't know what i'm going to do after my BA on Monday
I'm such a gym junkie, i go al least 5 times a week and do all different kinds of classes from body pump to body attack, i am going to be a nightmare to live with That was the main reason why i haven't had a BA before now because i couldn't bare not to be getting my fix down at the gym (sad i know)
Well i suppose it'll all be worth it in the end when i have my twinies

Re: Cold Turkey
Josey, you have to realise that with having a BA joking all aside, you are about to have major surgery, you not only have to worry about the risk you put on your new boobs and the possiblity of you wasting all the surgeons hard work for you and all the money you would have wasted by going to the gym too early (by ignoring you post-op recovery plan your aftercare will be null and void) but more importantly risk your health!
So hunni... for the next 6 weeks after your op, you WERE a gym junkie and your boobs and health will be the most important things in your life during this time

Hey Josey, I just wanted to add that since you are probably in such good shape that it will be easy to get back into the swing of things after 6 weeks! Don't worry! I see that you are getting unders. This is the placement that I had. I have found that my pecs are a bit weaker post BA having had implants placed under the muscle. It's getting much better though. Another added benefit is that they feel very supported in that placement, so jogging feels great, and I feel very supported! Best of luck!!

Re: Cold Turkey
Hey Josey,
I was like you too, I was at the gym 5-6 days a week, every week... my training is very important to me and also a big enjoyment in my life... but I wanted boobs so I just knew that I was having a recovery holiday and truthfully I actually enjoyed doing nothing for that time. The time also goes by fast and when I did go back to the gym at 6 wks post I went back slowly and took it easy, I did not want to wreck the good work my ps had done... it was a bit frusterating at first not doing what I was capable of pre-op... but it does come back within a few months I was back doing everything I was before... EXCEPT...I do not train chest... AT ALL... I have unders and my ps said they take 12 months to completely heal, so I am following his rules... but with my new boobies chest muscles dont matter anymore!
They are worth it so follow your post op instructions! x

Unfortunately it's just one of those things hon, you will need to take the break. Take the full six weeks at least, make sure you are healed and go back gradually.
It's better to do the six weeks and go back than to go back to soon, require another operation and potentially be out of the gym for three months!

Re: Cold Turkey
you sound like me, and a lot of the girls on the forum!!! there are quite a few gym bunnies on here, and thats one thing ki was worried about.
but it isnt as bad as you may think. i was given the all clear to exercise at 5 weeks, but my breast felt waaaay too uncomfortable at only 5 weeks, and it wasnt until 7 weeks that i was out running etc.
meanwhile, i did lots of walking and that helped keep me feeling okay about it! your boobs will be totally worth 6 weeks of no gym!!

Re: Cold Turkey
This is exactly what kept me from doing the surgery as well...except I go 7 days a week EVERY week 2-3 hours per day. I get up at 5am every day, workout for 2 hours and do another 1 hour in the evening. I miss it very much. This is what causes my after surgery depression. I just had my second ba 4 days ago and I am going insane not being able to workout. But I will slowly incorporate things in. I will start doing lower body workouts and walking as soon as I feel well enough. The first ba I had was a lot easier on me than the second. I have been in a lot of pain. But I know I will start to feel better again when I can do some little things like that. It didn't take me very long to feel I was back to normal after my first ba.
Take care and listen to your ps and your body!

Re: Cold Turkey
YOu are suppose to not do anything for 6 weeks, short gentle walks are ok.
yes you can do upper body with unders, I would avoid chest, but back, arms and shoulders are fine... you have to go back to it slowly and listen to your body... if it hurts stop and try another time.

Re: Cold Turkey
i think your aftercare would be nil and void if you were to do any excerise before your ps reccomends and something went wrong ( god for bid!) so thats something that needs to be taken in to consideration. It must be awful not to do something your body is used to and graves but if it means you heal well and problem free then i would do nothing for 6 weeks and have that break your body needs.
