Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
ive heard behind the muscle can take longer to recover but then it does depend n each individual with recovery time aswell. Behind the muscles tend to be good for people with not much breast tissue to avoid the top of the implant showing harshly under the skin, but under the muscle apparantly they stay where they are when you lay down and dont have as much jiggle in general whereas over the muscle tend to go more like natural breasts when you lay down and have mroe jiggle in them - but i have heard unders can also its just in general from what ive read xxx

Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
Overs vs unders is generally determined by your body, as someone with very little breast tissue would most likely need unders, where someone with enough breast tissue can have overs. It is also commonly a ps's preference, like mine who prefers unders in most cases, but that was what I wanted.
They say that the healing can be harder with unders as they cut the muscle, but I had unders and had very little pain, and I have seen some girls on here with overs who found it painful. As for the jiggle factor, I have unders and after they settled and fluffed I have plently of jiggle!
You can also achieve a natural look with both unders and overs, its choosing the right placement for your body thats important.

if you have no breast tissue, then you will acheive a more natural look usually with unders, as it disguises the ridge at the top of the implant and the rippling.
If you have a decent amount of existing breast tissue, youre better off with overs, as the implant edges and any rippling will be hidden by the breast tissue.

if you have a lot of breast tissue, you'll probably get a more natural result with overs tb

It really isn't a good idea to have unders if you have a lot of breast tissue. Especially if it droops. I would seek other opinions. this picture I believe shows why (in an extreme case)

no, biplane is the same as unders really. Most "unders" are actually dual plane, as full unders usually only tends to be used in reconstructive surgery after mastectomies etc.

Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
It's all ps and ur preference but if u have a lot of breast tissue like misf1 showed u could end up with a bad drooping effect. I had overs that's what I wanted and that's what my surgeon prefers he says they drop more naturally xx

Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
Its all down to preference and your surgeon. If you have enough skin overs would be best as Misf1 shows in the diagram also if your thinking about having babies in the future and you opt for unders that could also happen, you skin could drop naturally whereas you implant will stay behind the muscle. Obviously if you dont have enough skin then unders is really the only option bar from partial unders.

Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
great article Tsmith.
There are a heap of before and after photos on the net of girls who have had unders and overs in various sizes. check it out if it helps. but as everyone mentions, if you have plenty of breast tissue atm unders would possibly droop, but then again dual plane prob won't. xx

Re: difference between behind the muscle and infront
Yeah as the oher girls have said it depends on your breast tissue and also how thick your skin is.
I personally think unders look more natural and overs give a more false look though probably a better cleavage. I didn't have a choice and to have unders as not enough breast tissue and very thin skin.
