Oh my goodness I just realised...
it's only 4 weeks till my op!!! I didn't realise I thought it was at least 5weeks. I have my consult in 10 days and then 17days later I'll be having the op. I know it's a bit weird to have booked the op before the consult, but I have been communicating frequently with my PCC and from the very first contact with THG they have instilled confidence in me, and Michael Payne has great reviews so I'm not worried, I have a good feeling about them. I have had one other consult and rang round 3 other places but did not get the same feeling, so I'm happy with my choice so far, and if after meeting PS I change my mind I haven't lost anything (deposit refundable) but I didn't want to wait any longer than I had to for the op so decided to reserve my spot early, as that week was good for me workwise. I can't believe it, it'll be here before I know it, after waiting years and years, roll on 13th September! It's going to be so weird actually having a chest! I'm just so excited right now!

Goodness me sugarplum, you had my heart pumping till I read that bit! LOL
No-one should book anything really before seeing a surgeon first hunni.
It's not the clinic operating on your body, nor is the patient co-ordinator, who is no more than a sales woman there to nail a deal and will tell you anything to seal that!
The person operating is the surgeon! It's great that on page you're happy with what you've researched about him, but that sometimes is never enough, on seeing the surgeon you just might not like him, you may not like his attitude toward the surgery he has planned for you and alrm bells may go off as soon as you stand in the room.
Don't listen to any spiel the PCC might put your way on the day babes, remember what I told you, the PCC has no medical training, they are employed to sell! They might throw alot of offers to sweet talk you into booking that surgery slot hunni, but sign nothing on the day! take the information home, be sure you dont sign anything, give yourself some time to digest the plan, review the after care offered and then and only then if you're very confident with your choice then book if you're pleased. Book a second consultation for maybe 3 days pre-op too hun, trust me, you'll be grateful to have some further reassurance from your surgeon right before your op hun. xx

Also sugarplum you learn so much from this site making you realise how many things you didnt ask because you didnt know about them. I have a second consultation with my surgeon and a bundle of new questions. Good luck xx

Im actually having a second consult with my ps next wednesday. I was happy with him, but as it is so much money, i just wanted to go back and go other the final details and ensure the size is staying the same. xxx

Re: Oh my goodness I just realised...
I have just read your post and although I agree with what the girls are saying about making sure the PS is the right one and you are happy with everything (I completely agree) I just felt I had to say that I Met Mr Payne, had a good PCC (with THG), Booked my op the same day, got a good deal on price and had the op 21 days later. I am over the moon with the results. I know that not everyone will have the same and most people do shop about and have several consultations however sometimes doing it the way you have (and I have) can work out for the best. If I had any questions pre surgery I just called my PCC (not medically trained but still provided the answers to every question) and post op if anything arose then you just call the staff at the hospital, luckily this didn't happen.
I just wanted to wish you the best of luck, I had a great experience and I hope you do to.
xx

Re: Oh my goodness I just realised...
Thanks for all your advice girls, I know my post would ring alarm bells for lots of you, but like I said I know I can back out if I need to, I just have to have it booked for my mental health, I'm going through an extremely stressful time at the moment and there is no end in sight right now, so booking the surgery gives me something to look forward to and keep focused on so that was part of the reason for being a bit hasty as some may see, I've got so much cr*p going on I had to have a date to work to.

Re: Oh my goodness I just realised...
I understand the need for something to look to sweetheart, but just also focus on the fact that this isn't a holiday you're booking, or a nice spa day, it's your body and someone is going to change the way you look and things can and do go wrong if you don't take time to really think about what is planned for you and don't rush into this, it's also wise to have other consultations hun before making your final decision, just so you have other consultations to compare to and make your decision wisely.
Please don't rush sugarplum, we've seen so many women do the same here and seen them having to go back for re-ops too, so be sure to think about this hunni. xx

Re: Oh my goodness I just realised...
I won't, thanks for your concern, if I'm in any way not happy with Mr Payne I won't be going ahead. I have already had another consult last month but wasn't happy with the experience.
