Helloooo!
Wondering if anyone post-op can give me an idea of the pain/discomfort you experience as you wake up from your op if you can remember!

~I wasn't in any pain or discomfort wen i first woke up. I was shivering/shaking but that was due to the GA.

Oh that's good then, what are they like now after a week or so? Any difficulties doing things you normally would've done pre op?

I was fine the first few hours after waking up, but then was in quite a bit of pain. The following couple of days I was sick and felt shocking! (think it was a reaction to the GA) But everyday got easier and now i'm not really in any pain at all. I know other girls who had no pain what-so-ever.

I'm still not confident to drive and can't reach anythin high up! As it is difficult to raise my arms.

I was unable to sit up on my own the first few days, needed straws to drink, couldn't really do much for myself the first few days but now loads better.

Ahh I'm glad it's not gonna be too bad when I come around. I've never had a GA before so wouldn't wanna wake up all alone AND in pain! I didn't think about getting sickness from it oh noo! Must've been nasty :( Yeaah that's probably more wound pain than implant pain though yeah? I think my stitches are dissolvable.. surgeon said they're gonna be itchy for a few weeks haha ew!
Glad you're on the mend :)

I had a little discomfort when I woke up in recovery and they gave me some morphine, it was great. After that no pain at all, just an ache in the morning (aka morning boob) and back ache

I didn't feel any pain at first, I felt sick and then got the shakes. It wasn't like I was cold just shaking like a sort of fever but without feeling hot. But that's normal, I sort of drifted in and out of sleep for the first few hours, I kept turning away food because I didn't want to be sick but I was told I really should eat something. Then when I did it came straight back up but this sort of made me feel better.

I think at first your aware that your chest feels heavier and there's a tightness there, not like you can't breath are anything but just like you have something laying on your chest. The pain, as such because it's not like a pain just a low throb came later when I was moving around a little more and every now and again I would lift my arm or just move a little to quick and it just catches you. A short shape twang. The first time you have a nights rest, I couldn't sleep upright but you some how manage a few hours, that first movement in the morning is bad, just remember to hold them and b shuffle off the bed x x

I think the first few hrs after u wake up ur not really aware whats going on,. The nurse was sayin do u want to have a look but i couldnt really be bothered! when i looked down i felt sick, i just wanted to sleep. lol.. iv been up and out of bed since, just goin bak for cat naps now and again but spent all day up and about yesterday at the hospital with mmy grandad and i was pretty tired last nyt! The soreness around the scar is getting sore and itchy, i think thats it healing. Had to sleep with my sports bra unclipped last night which gave me relief. Its one of these pains that go away and u will not remember in a few days. Im only 4 days post op but hoping there isnt more to come!

When I first woke up I had a sort of burning pain in my chest - on a scale of 1-10, I'd say it was a 6-7. But after a few mins I got some painkillers, and the pain went away completely and didn't come back. From then on I just felt a bit stiff and uncomfortable. Just make sure you let them know if you have any pain. You'll be fine! Xx

If you suffer from sickness from GA let the anaesthetist know. I had anti sickness drugs and was fine. They will probably give you morphine as well as the IV antibiotics. I was fine in hospital, pain was worse around day 4 post op for me. Keep on top of the pain relief. I was taking Diclofenac and tramadol for first few days after surgery then just paracetamol. The Tramadol do bung you up a little so stock up on the senokot! Good luck!x

I was in a lot of pain (i'm no good with pain lol) and felt as though someone was sitting on my chest :( couldn't sit up//get up on my own at all..I'm only 15 days post op now and still find it hard to do some things, but i think it's more a "fear" of doing things that holds me back..Still have probs in the mornings getting outa bed (as i was told not to lean on my hands for 6 weeks) so i roll out and use my elbow as my support :) This site is amazing for info//advice..worries and concerns..xx
