sunbed before BA?
I know I can't go on a sunbed after my BA until the scars have healed, but can I go on before?
Re: sunbed before BA?
People will say different things but personally I couldnt face being so pastey all the time after my op as its defo not recommended afterwards, so i went on up until about 3 days before and i told my ps and he said its fine just to make sure not to use them straight after. I have just been topping it up with good old fake tan until im aloud to go back on, (not that i really should be!!! as it really isnt good) but hey?? x

I'm not sure they need to look at your skin colour BB while your under as they have monitors to check on everything, where did you hear that?
I went on sunbeds before my BA. You should be fine, but if you're worried then it's best to stay off them

Re: sunbed before BA?
You will be asked about your health and about any previous experience you have had of hospital treatment. It's important that you tell your anaesthetist about any allergies that you have and whether you suffer from asthma, hayfever or eczema, and about any medicines that you are taking (whether prescribed, herbal, or over-the-counter).
You should tell your anaesthetist if you have any dental crowns, bridges or loose teeth. These can be vulnerable to damage because a tube is usually put in your mouth while you are unconscious.
If you smoke, you should give up a few weeks before surgery. This will significantly reduce your risk of breathing problems during and after general anaesthesia.
You should have a bath or shower at home on the day of your admission. You should also remove any make-up, nail varnish and jewellery. Rings and earrings that you prefer not to remove can usually be covered with sticky tape.
Make up and especially nail polish, need to be removed. The
anaesthetist watches the colour of the woman's lips and her nail beds
as one way to tell if she is getting adequate oxygen. This is
particularly so if the woman is unconscious with a general anaesthetic
As lips don't tan, you should be fine to use a sunbed before the op.
