Sunbathing topless on holiday
Hi Girls
I know this has probably been asked a million times before, but here goes...
Im going on holiday in August - i will be 8 weeks post op. I did explain this to my surgeon when i booked the op. He never mentioned to me that i couldn't go topless - just said to keep my scars covered.
I am already very brown - i was before my op (even the anaethstatist joked about how i looked like a hadnt washed off my Saint Tropez properly -cheeky man!) and since i had my 1 week check i was told by the nurse that i could start going on the sunbeds again at 2 weeks post op as long as i made sure that my scars were carefully covered with plasters (which i have been doing).
So i still have a great tan and my boobs are used to the sunlight, i tan fairly easily and rarely burn - so ideally i'd like to continue and not get bikini marks on holiday. My skin isnt stretched too much after my BA as i had quite loose skin that has just been filled out and my boobs are very squashy and natural feeling.
Have any you ever sunbathed topless and just covered your scars up with a plaster on holiday BEFORE they were a year post op? And also is there anything BETTER than plasters i can use to cover the scars - otherwise im going to have to put new plasters on every couple of hours if im hot & sweaty??? Maybe the flesh coloured silicone scar sheets - are these better than plasters for staying on?

Re: Sunbathing topless on holiday
Hey hun. I've sunbathed topless with only covering my scars and I also do the same on sunbeds! (I'm naturally very brown too- were lucky)
I used micropore tape but it does just peel off when hot so wouldn't recommend that. I've had some silicone sheets delivered today but as u wash them and reuse them for 7 days eack sheet it sounds like they would be a lot more sticky! Xxxx
Hope that helps hun.x xx

I know yeah to b honest I didn't think I was going to b able to go on the sunbeds for at least 6 weeks but my nurse said it was fine (maybe because I was already brown)..just to keep scars fully covered.
Yes Lola think I'm going to invest in the flesh coloured scar sheets for my hols!

Re: Sunbathing topless on holiday
lol whats a plaster?! brilliant, yeah its a band aid! ive heard of a suncream thats factor 90. maybe this would be okay to put on. it must be really thick cause factor 50 is what you put on babies isnt it? to protect their delicate skin? must be good for scar covering?! would love to go topless on the beach but think the OH would get mega jealous lol

Hahaha ah that's so funny!!!
I wouldn't care about the plasters in all honesty- how many people do u think will be looking at them when u have ya amazing boobs on show?
Well apart from bitterly jealous girls but no one cares what they think haha

I went topless on holiday about 9weeks post op, I covered my scars in factor 50 but never put anything to cover the scar itself. x

Sweet thanks girls, will check with my PS.
Not at all bothered about plasters on show though. I won't b walking around topless - just the sneaky hour or so a day doing my front. Xx

Re: Sunbathing topless on holiday
Damn, I'm naturally brown and always wished I was lighter! The grass is always greener I guess...
I'd imagine it's best not to let the sun at your scars though - I've had scars from other stuff and the sun hurts =S it also made the scars a bit worse I think, as they were still healing... definitely a good idea to put some plasters on while you're sunbathing! =]
