Post op - how many days till you were up and about

hey girlies!!!!

i'm having my re-op on the 10th august which is a wednesday and hoping to have some friends round my hosue for a girly gossip on the friday or saturday night, do you think i'll be ok? i dont want to be grumpy and telling them to get out after an hour lol. also i'm suppose to be going out for a meal on the monday after my op which will be 5 days? i'm getting a lift there and back but do you think i will be ok? x

I'd say yeah- although just prewarn them u may be tired and want to leave (this is what I said but felt ok)

I was up and out on day 3 as cabin fever had set in and I was bored and had to get out. Although I had people round my house on day 2 xxxx

Hi hon. My op was a week ago. I have two kiddies - age 1 and 4 and yesterday I was totally fine to be at home with them by myself with them. I have been pretty much ok to do whatever from Day 3. I have been to cinema and out to dinner at weekend too! I had overs. Rach x

ooo thats great advice! thank you both! i just remember my first op my friends came round a few days after and i just wanted them to go! but i had a bad recovery. im thinking this time i'm alot healthier so should b ok :D thanks again! x

I'd say yes that sounds fine based on my experience. I had lots of my friends round on Day 2 & 3 and rested in between visits. I found it really helped to have a goss and giggle. I was out of the house from Day 4 nothing too heavy going - shopping, hair, lunch etc - but did find I needed a nice afternoon nap sometimes !

Hi Dolly - when i had my re-op last Monday, I had friends around on the Wednedsday and I was fine - I was glad of the company! And I also went out food shopping on the Saturday with my partner just to get out of the house - but was a little tired when I got home - as long as you don't over do it you will be fine but when you are feeling tired then just make sure you rest.

I went to have my stictches out today at THG and the nurse is still telling me to take it easy even though i feel absolutely fine but I guess you just have to give yourself time to heal on the inside.

hey i had 410 overs on saturday and today iv been to town and out for diner, although wen i got home i had another nap :)

I was up and about two days post op. I was just very sore and exhausted. I still felt sleepy for the first week but I would just nap most of the morning and then head out in the afternoon. Make sure you get plenty of rest before your friends come over and I wouldn't worry about going out to dinner. You will probably be glad to get out of the house and get fresh air. I think the key is sleeping and napping when your body tells you too so you don't over do it.

oh god not napping! i love napping and i only got out of it last month! whenever i go on holiday with friends we have naps in the day and when i get home i still need my naps, i havent had a nap for a few weeks, i'm excited thinking of napping now, how sad am i?! x

Hahahaha oh god I love a nap!!! After my ba- my first week at work at 3 o clock every day I was like- this time for the last 2 weeks has been my nap time Hysterical

I was up and about the next day .. It was my birthday and my mum threw me a "happy boobday" party ! I would say after 3/4 days u will be happy enough sitting comfy with a cup of juice listening in to the girlies chatter xxxx

I went out the following night to my friends and was there for a good 4 hours, even drove there and back myself! xx

I was up and about the next day really - i've got 2 kids though so not much chance of a rest! Just don't tire yourself out although you'll probably be glad of the company. I'm goin the pics on Thursday, can't wait 2 get out and see some friends!! xx
