lose of nipple sensation? Empty Re: lose of nipple sensation?

I did in one, but it came back within a few days when the nerves started to heal again.
I was told pre BA that the chances were slim, but they had to warn me of everything that could go wrong.

lose of nipple sensation? Empty Re: lose of nipple sensation?

I had no nipple feeling for a long time over the nipples and boobs, over the weeks and months of recovery the feeling has slowly come back. I now have feeling in my nipples but I have some numb spots over my vertical scars. I was unaware of any loss of sensation unless I was actually feeling my boobs, even now I dont notice the numb spots unless I touch the area. It can take up to 12 months for all the feeling to return, so we have to be patient.

Yes my whole boob was numb at first then after a few weeks it started coming back slowly by 3 months I had the sensation back in one nip, but it took a year for the other to come back fully. It seems to be common to either lose sensation or get hypersensitive nips. Most come back to normal.

I still don't have much feeling from my nipples below my whole boobs. Hoping it comes back eventually.

I am completley numb underneath the nipple and the nipples haven't totally regained their sensation yet. I'm really hoping over time this sorts itself out as I've not experienced this with previous BA's.

lose of nipple sensation? Empty Re: lose of nipple sensation?

Hi. I am 2 weeks post op and I think some sensation is coming back into my nipples now. But saying that I didn't have very sensitive nipples beforehand.

I think a loss of sensation for a time is completely normal and the majority of people get the feeling back. It's very rare to lose sensation completely forever. Don't worry!

My nipples dont feel the same as they did before not totally numb just different and i have a small numb patch above each scar that at times is more numb than others - odd. Like last week i was saying to my husband "Oh my god the numb patch has got worse/bigger" then today is fine practically nothing; very strange. Just finished my period could it be related? What else could it be?

I am only 2 weeks post op, so I know there are loads of changes to come yet, but my right nipple is starting to come back to life. My left one hasn't yet but although I have no sensation in it, the area around it is starting to burn, so it's only a matter of time (hopefully) that the left nipple will start to come back to life.
Janeybird I totally get what you mean, one day i'm numb, then the next i'm not, I think I have healed, and then I go back to square one the next day and its numb again! Can't get my head around it! xxxx Screwy
