Cyst-caused by my surgery?
Hi girls,
I am 5 months po from a full uplift with 390 unders. I went to an NHS Breast clinic today as I had a red circle on the skin of my left breast and and a lump underneath right down my vertical scar line. I have had cyst's in my right breast before but they have never been visible or red. Anyway I saw the specialist and he says it is a cyst under the skin caused by my Mastopexy (uplift) and that I need to go back and show my ps as it needs cutting out. They are going to scan me next week and he has told me to take the report to my ps.
The nhs Doctor I saw also commented on how high my nipples were and that the skin needs pulling down and tightening which I have already brought to the attention of my ps. PS says I need to wait until I have healed but I never get a definate answer as to wether it's going to be done.
I called MyBreast and they were happy to book me in to see him even though I am confused as hell why a cyst would be caused my surgery. I spoke to my pc about the nipple height problem and that the nhs doctor said if I were going to be having surgery for the skin to be tightened then the cyst needs to be removed at the same time and asked her if this would be covered by my aftercare. She said it would need to go the board once my ps has seen me. Just wondered what you guys thought? Surely my nipples being to high after surgery and still having excess skin isn't my fault and should be done but I havn't a clue about the cyst even if it is a direct result of the surgery. Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks girls and sorry for the long post

Re: Cyst-caused by my surgery?
Generally MyBreast are fine about re-ops if they find necessary babe, you have the clinical evidence of a cyst (something than can occur after surgery) so that will not be contested whatsoever and will be sorted for you.
Your nipple height is what will need further discussion. Just be upfront and explain what you've felt and discussed with your surgeron previously, also state what the doc said to you, be sure what you're saying goes in your notes as this is what will be referred to by the board.
I think you'll be just fine though babe. Just be clear in what you're wanting from this re-op and your reasons why. xx

MyBreast, while their admin can sometimes be slow, are generally very good when it comes to aftercare. It's the reason they're that little bit more expensive than the others.
Lok Cookie said, be clear and firm in what you want from them and don't take no for an answer.

Re: Cyst-caused by my surgery?
with the nipple thing that is the fault of the surgeon, so as long as your clear and put your point across im sure you'll be fine. I cant believe your 5 months po already!! i joined here i think just as you were about to have your op! xx

Re: Cyst-caused by my surgery?
I haven't had cysts after my surgery, but just wanted to wish you good luck and hope they sort it out soon, as the girls have said Mybreast are pretty good with their aftercare.
