i would imagine you are swollen right now. plus its hard to get an accurate measurement on yourself (if you didn't have somone do it for you)
as for shedding a band size, a lot of it is your rib cage, you can't do much about that. after the swelling goes down more in a month or two, you should get yourself re-measured.
if after several months you still need to go smaller, then you would need to look at fat reduction. you can't spot fat reduce, so you'd need to hit cardio hard. also increasing your muscle can make your band size larger by increasing your lat size. (that's what's going on with me), but you'd have to hit some HEAVY weights (or pole dance as in my case! lol) to gain enough in your lats to make a difference. i wouldn't shy away from weight training in the area though either. the more muscle you have the more fat your burn.
not knowing your normal size and measurements, this is a just a guess as to if you could lose fat volume around your band.
:)

i agree with ac4me, it has a lot to do with your ribs, however, i imagine you will have some swelling, so i wouldnt worry to much. Ive always been pretty large ribbed! lol, ive always been a 36 band most of my adult years, then after losing a very small amount of weight (that all came off my lovely boobs.sniff sniff) i was a 34. xx

Hay hun,
I wouldn't worry about band and cup size its only a number after all.
If your happy with your boobies then who cares what size they are! Just enjoy them. :)
You will have a lot of changes to come, swelling will go down but they may also start to drop and look fuller.
Take care

i agree. nothing wrong with a 36 band size... just a number on a label. plus potentially makes your waist look smaller if "bigger" on top half ;)

Hope the swelling goes down quickly amy!
Just on a side note, Hi ac4me, nice to meet a fellow pole dancer who's getting a boob job! I'll be very interested to see how you get on after your boob job, I'm having unders and I'm preying it wont effect my pole dancing too much as I love it so much! I also agree, it's an amazing way to tone you whole body, I've lost 2 dress sizes since starting it 2 years ago!
Sorry for going off track Amy, I would of PM ac4me but I'm still a newbi so I can. Happy healing! xxx

awesome!
i can tell you (from previous students of mine) that it will weaken you at first. pole uses a LOT of pecs, so you need to take it VERY easy in the beginning. honestly, since you're getting unders I would wait at LEAST 8 weeks before touching that pole! you need to let the pec fully heal or you can risk ripping it and losing your pocket and have to go in to stitch it back up.
then when you go back, start with strengthing excercises like pull ups (put your hands about forehead height, pull your shoulders back and lift into your back, keeping your legs behind you)
then on to basic spins and such..
good luck!

Thanks! I'm going to miss it so much, I'm going to have to take the pole down at home or it'll drive me crazy! Do you instruct? Are you pretty advanced? I wish I could pm you, I feel bad hogging this post! My pole instructor has her done and she is amazing so I'm hoping once I'm all fully healed I can get back to the stage I'm at now.
I'm hoping I can do lots of walking early on so I dont put on weight. Then build up to pole again. Are you going to Miss Pole Dance tomorrow in Brighton? x
