Re: August Buddies!
I'm all done!! all went well and I'm sat in my hospital bed just dozing...
Nicki - Holly House has been such a great experience from start to finish (although I'm still in currently)! Lovely staff, helpful nurses, Mr Carver was incredible as were the anesthetists!
My boobs look really good already despite the swelling and there's only minimal bruising. I came out of surgery and all I had under my gown was small strips over my incisions - no strap or bandage. It feels so nice!!! I changed into a stretchy soft boob tube about 7am which was nice for a bit of support. Mr C said that because I'm big boobed now he'll put a support bra on me tomorrow but I'll be bk in 10 days for a check up. I can shower in the morning and shouldn't worry about anything too much. My arms are pretty moveable, although slightly restricted because it feels like pulling on your chest to do too much. My chest feels heavy and my shoulders/upper bk are achey but I've only had 2 lots of paracetemol since 10am and am due some now for bedtime. Pain is certainly bearable.

Wow Lucy!, Congratulations hon. Sorry i didn't send a good luck message, have been at Butlins and just got back last night.
So happy for you that it all went well. Pleased that you're happy with your results thus far!!. Hope you're resting at home now and are hope you're not in too much pain.
Really looking forward to reading your story.
I am so rediculously nervous, not sleeping very well. I keep waking up at 4am worrying etc!!. I am excited though, just want it to be over with and then we can share recovery stories!!.
Did Nigel Carver provide you with the support bra? as Sharon told me to just wear crop tops so i haven't bought any bras whatsoever.
Congratulations on your new boooooobs, Miami here you come!!!!

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Nicki,
It is so relaxed in HH, nothing is too much hassle. Mr C turned up about 11am this morning with my fav nurse, think her name was Elizabeth, he gave me a proper granny looking waistcoat style bra which fastens at the front. Not flattering but it's now my bestest friend in the whole world!! :-)
I had a shower before I left despite really not having the energy but that was fine too. Mr C basically said I could wear and do whatever felt comfy with regards to wearing bras etc. Suggested I go get a proper sports bra on Wednesday but try lots of sizes. The one I have is only done up on the top and bottom clasp so no squishing them together In the middle just yet! He said I'll be about a 34E - wooo hooo!!
Loving the teardrop shape too!! You really should he getting excited now!!
Oh and by the way, it's drug time in 15mins and Im counting down so apologies for the gabbling msg!
Xx

Oh and my pain tip is to get a v shape pillow or some sort of sausage shape one and hold it under your boobs when your sitting down and walking around - the support is amazing!!
Oh and take in a big baggy tshirt to come home in, feels so nice!! Xx

Re: August Buddies!
Ah thanks for all your tips Lucy. Really is reassuring to hear that you had a good experience. Wow 34E??????. What size implant did you have in the end?. Did he discuss this with you just prior to your op?.
Sharon told me on the phone that Mr C ordered lots of different size implants for me so we can discuss on the day.
What was the GA like?, How did you feel when you were being put to sleep?. I am sooooooo nervous about this part most of all. I totally trust Mr C as he did my friend's BA a couple of years ago.
So baggy t.shirt, V pillow. Anything else?. Are you taking Arnica?. I've started taking mine today.
I haven't bought a button up pj top, do you think i need one?. I have bought stretchy vests with built in support (one size bigger to allow for swelling so they won't be tight).
Sorry i've got so many questions. Soon we can compare notes on recovery!.
Rest up hun. xxx

Re: August Buddies!
Morning all...
Nicki - I arrived at 7am and put my gown on, then I had the nurse come in and take my bp and height etc. Then the anesthetist Mr Martin came in and explained exactly what would happen and how I'd feel both before, after and the following day. Then Mr C and a nurse came in and explained what he'd do, he had my consultation notes from my first appointment. Explained that for my height, size and shoulder broadness he would use 315cc. I asked all the questions I had and he answered them. Said I would be roughly 32DD and I was happy with that as an approx guess.
Nurse came for me at 8:15 so I walked down to a room and laid on a bed, then Mr Martin put a canula in my hand whilst another nice man stuck pads on my arms and back for heartbeat etc. Mr M started putting stuff in my canula but was talking to me about the weather, I said I felt faint and he said 'oh well that's perfect' and I was fast asleep in about 20 seconds! I like that he didn't even warn me! I woke up and it was 9:45 and a nurse took a tube out my throat which didn't hurt - it was fine. I started to cry which was just relief! Then she gave me intravenous paracetamol and I was on a drip. Laid there for 30 mins then I went bk to my room - I was able to lift myself onto my own bed from the theatre bed.
Yes I took arnica from 2 wks before and am on it now. Only have bruises round my incisions. I wouldn't worry about button up pj's, it warm in the hospital so I didnt have mine on! I took little soft shorts to sleep in and I had a very stretchy boob tube but I had my gown on till 7pm which was so comfy! I would take baggy stuff as well as you're vests, they don't like being squished at all!!!

Re: August Buddies!
I know August already!!! I am tomorrow, freaking out a little here, so excited but so nervous too! CAnt concentrate on anything need to get out of the house a little me thinks!
Trying to get the house nice and clean, done the sheets ironing, vacuuming, need to stock up on groceries, maybe get some icepacks for the tender ones, all tips from the ladies, thank you!
Thinking about getting another sports bra, 34D, I have 32C and 32D already, hmmm.
Lucy: Nice to read the positive updates! Sounds like you are doing well!
Starsfade, I have the sniffles too! Hoping the painkillers will help my sinus headache too!

Re: August Buddies!
I see you're having teardrop too, they look awesome!! I would def get a bigger bra, any sense of tightness is not nice... The key is support! I was in a boob tube after surgery through choice but getting shoulder support was nice - they really do feel extremely heavy! Both under and at the side which is why I mentioned getting a pillow under them when you walk around or sit down. Just feels so good... :-)
Current comfy spot is laying on my reclining chair sun lounger - a bit of sunshine feels nice on my face! Obviously the boobies are well covered but vitamin D is key to immune system boosting so it's all good and if I get some colour in my face it's just a bonus! Ha!
Def good to get the chores out the way pre-surgery, I'm struggling to do anything much today. Keep picking things up with my toes! Ha! Can't even open the dishwasher door this morning but hey, boyf will have to do it once he's home! It's so hard trying not to do stuff but if you do too much you certainly know about it... Not worth the pain!
Good luck ladies, you'll be fine xx

Hey Lucy!
How are you feeling today?, was it nice laying in the sun?. Thanks for all your messages, they really have made me feel more positive. Am so excited now. I'm taking my children to my parents tomorrow so i'll be quite busy but i doubt that i'll sleep very much tomorrow night!.
Have to be there for 7am like yourself so i am hoping that i'll be one of the first on Mr C's list. I wonder how many ops he carries out each day???.
Anyway, hope you're feeling ok. Do you still have the indegestion type pain?. Wonder what that is. If it gets worse and you're really worried i'd call HH or even NHS Direct.
Hope it's better now....
