Sitting position driving me nuts
Hi girls,
Im 2 days post op, really struggling to find a sitting/lying position. Wasnt so bad before but today my neck is killing whole body is stiff and i just cant get it right. If i situp my bandages on incisions get all stuck together, if i slightly lie so they dont crease my neck and butt hurts.
Any tips? how long before this phase passes?
thanks xxx

Re: Sitting position driving me nuts
I found using lots of pillows helpful, I had them all around me and in bed I had one just under my bum/lower back and then I also put one under my knees - it was a case of adjusting them til they were comfy x

Thanks for the replies, I'm using lots of pillows but sometimes just can't get it right :( haven't got the v pillow but heard its very good so will get mum to get 1 tomorrow. Jen I know what u are talking about and that would help a lot I was thinking too, just a matter of someone going to buy it for me. This whole journey is getting harder by the day for me than easier, I feel so emotional :( xxx

Oh hun big hugs it gets better and soon this is a distant memory. I'm only just over 4 weeks post op and I have been out running around with my dog, doing housework, working, playing football with my son and gardening. Now although I wouldn't recommend it for everyone only 3 weeks ago I was just like you are now.
You will also be experiencing the booby blues which is so usual especially 3 days post op as you still have the GA in your system and this alone will be making you feel very low.
It will all be worth it. Try to move around as much as you feel comfortable with during the day, it really does help and assists your body in draining away the built up fluid, when you wake in the morning maybe get someone to get you some pain relief half hour before you get up as you boobs will be very uncomfortable as you get up out of bed (morning boobs ouch). Eat well and drink lots of fluids. This will all assist you in feeling better a whole lot quicker.

Hi hun,
I had exactly the same and I had really bad back pain. The V pillow is a godsend, just make sure you slant your pillows so that your lower back is supported.
It will ease off as you get used to it, I'm finding it hard to sleep normally now!
Happy healing hun x

Ahh thanks hun
I have been a little upset because I think they look too big..I am feeling loads better now and hopefully when they D/F they will be a little smaller...My surgeon came highly recommended and I did trust 100% ...He corrected the slight drooping and one was lower than the other (albeit a tiny bit) Yes there, um growing on me. Literally ! :heehee:
