Hols after op...advice?
I am similar to another post recently put on here.
I am having my op on 31st July and am flying out to tenerife on 16th Aug. (2weeks 2days after Op)
My surgeon said it would be fine to fly as it's not a long flight.
What are your thoughts? Am thinking the heat mite be too much! Or will I be fine by then? I'm not goin clubbin or anythin, just relaxing!
Any thoughts/experience would be appreciated.
Thanks Ladies :)

Re: Hols after op...advice?
My surgeon said its ok to fly after a week but really you should go on holiday after your 6 week healing period. im sure you'll be fine as long as you dont expose your scar to the sun and moisturize your boobs so they wont dry out! id just be worried incase i felt pain and couldnt contact or visit my surgeon!! if he said its ok though and your just relaxing then should be fine! you should be off your antibiotics by then too x

I can't see it doing you any harm, if anything it will probably do you good to be on holiday chilling out rather than being back at work etc. Just keep your new assets out the water incase of infection and as kezza85 said keep em covered up

Re: Hols after op...advice?
I am going to Florida in 16 days, I will be just under the 4week post op.
My PS gave me the go ahead, is going to see me a few days before I fly.
I was warned to wear the flight socks, drink pently of fluids, stay out of the water until I was the 4 weeks post op, and not to expose the scars. Extra suncream required over the boobies!!!
ANd to chill out... Cant wait!

Re: Hols after op...advice?
Good topic. I have got a holiday weekend planned 2 weeks after op and am worried about it too. My PS said you could go in the water if your scars are healed. But obviously no swimming, just dipping! I am a bit worried about the heat in the sports bra because I don't think you can wear a bikini at that stage?? Maybe you can? Might be nice to show them off, but then again if they're very high and shiny, they will scare people off. I'd buy a couple of v. light floaty tops which will cover you up, but not make you too hot.

Re: Hols after op...advice?
Your insurance will not cover you should you need to get home due to complications if you have any. It is quite far to get back to your surgeon should you need to and you would have to pay for the treatment abroad if it was needed which would void your after care with your surgeon over here. Or you would have to pay for a flight back if you could get one. That is the worst case senario
Re: Hols after op...advice?
i would probably try and get my op a couple of weeks earlier or see if i could get my holiday a couple of weeks after if at all possible, especially since youre having unders, purely because id want to be able to at least go in the pool a bit, or have showers in that heat

Re: Hols after op...advice?
I booked my op for 2 days after my hol - going on 29th June, get back on 6th Jul & surgery on the 8th Jul. I could have had my op in May but thought it best to wait. Every1's different but I know that if it was me I'd want to make the most of the sun, sea, pool, alcohol etc! Like Misf1 said it's far to go if you have a complication? Have u already booked hol and op? xx

Re: Hols after op...advice?
Yeah have already book both :( and can't really changed the dates of either. Got to wait til summer hols as I am a teacher and can't get anytime off work.
Suppose I will have to see how it goes. If I don't feel recovered enough I will have to cut the loses on the hol and not go :( boohoo
But I know which I would rather have...definately boobies!! hehe
will just have to take it easy
Thanks for all your advice
