Hey guys,

Was reading a thread on here ive noticed that many people have had to travel to London to have there operations? On Mya and other surgery websites they say they have clinics around UK in cardiff, etc, etc - yet reading ive noticed alot of people who live all around the UK have gone to london? I live near Cardiff and dont really want to travel that far straight after surgery and on my own :S

Has anybody had surgery close to home?

Hi hun, a lot of the big companies have clinics all over the country, but they do not have operating theatres in them. I know Transform use a place in cardiff on Cathedral Road (I think) for their consultations but they are only there one day a week. Their main office is in Bristol which isn't to bad to get to. But they do the operations in London. They do offer a pic up and drop off service, so they send a car to get you and take you home. I think there is a hospital which does surgery in Bristol but I'm not sure which compant it is with, might be MYA or THG. There is also Spire which does it's ops in Pentwyn in Cardiff, although I believe they are a bit more expensive and only have a years aftercare compared to the larger companies who offer 3-5 years aftercare. I travelled from near cardiff to London and to be honest I didn't find it bad at all.

I'm going with Harley Medical Group, my clinic is 10 mins from my house in Birmingham, though I have to travel to Highgate hospital in London for surgery. Not ideal but I don't mind too much! Xx

hi i had mine done with mybreast & my surgeons clinic was 1/2 hr drive away & the hospital 20 mins away. they have clinics all over the country. lifetime aftercare too.x

I live in Newcastle, went with Transform. Clinic 10 mins away but hospital was 2.5 hours away. But they provided the transport
