Had op 2 days ago just few questions
Hi
Had my ruptured implants and replaced with new ones had 425cc in left breast and 450cc in right one. I have a special bra on and bandage round it which never had first time I had them done 8 years ago (with another surgeon) it does feel better being strapped up though more support. Just few questions as never had dissovable stiches and glue last time. I can have a shower for first time tomorrow. Will I have to be really careful washing round the stiches and can I use soap? and any moisturiser after?
Also I forgot to ask at the hospital about sleeping, I am sleeping on my back but laying flat. Should I be propped up with lots of pillows so kind of sleeping upright? or is lying flat ok, its just it seems to hurt more sitting up completely first thing in the morning.
Cant wait for my boobs to settle down and see them for the first tomorrow although bit scared as really want them to look fab.

Hi hun, congrats first off!!
sleeping thing, the reason why u may be asked to sleep elevated, is to help reduce swelling to ur boobs. Also, in the morning it hurts ledd when u get up cos u dont have to sit up from a lie down position!
as for washing, i was told i can wash, but NOT get my bandages wet at all to avoid infection. So if your having a shower, i would use the shower head and make sure u get no water anywhere near your new additions. Dont get any moisturisor or anything on or near to your scars.
I was allowed to get my scars wet after a week, but it depends on how ur scars r healing. and its different for everyone.
Didnt your nurse give u info leaflets on your post surgery care?

Hiya Tracy-Congrats on your new additions babes! 8-)
Your instructions for post-op all depend on which company+which surgeon you went with hun as we're all told slightly different things so if pos it would be best to give your clinic a quick call to make sure that you are doing all that you can for your precious new boobies. x

Hello Tracy congrats on having your re-op hun.
I agree with Loxxie hun, all surgeons differ with their post-op instructions and it's best to go with what yours has advised.
Happy healing. xx

Hi Tracy - i am 3 days post op with BMI and i was told that i should try and sleep slightly tilted so that my shoulders and head were higher than my body to reduce swelling.
I have also been advised to try and keep the stitches as dry as possible, although they made me take a light shower before i left the hospital! I am having shallow baths and using a cloth to wash my upper torso.
Hope your recovery is going well. I have huge pain in one breast this morning....walking around clutching a warm hot water bottle against it as i type to get some relief!
All the best x

Thanks everyone and star2angel you got your op done same day as me.
Just read my notes they gave me, it says to have a shower tonight and that I can use water/soap over stiches and can moisturise after although im going to be a little scared as really dont want to damage the stiches. So think ill just do a really light wash tonight. I have to put the bra back on straight after. It doesnt say anything on their about sleeping but think ill sleep raised up slightly from now on as laying down completely flat on my back isnt very comfortable. Really nervous about seeing breasts for frist time tonight since op on Friday. Think ill wait till my husband gets home to help me as I may find it a bit difficult.

I would try to prop yourself up when sleeping to help reduce the swelling, as for first thing in the morning, this is what we call morning boob and they can really ache for a little while. If it's bad I'd take some pain killers. This will go when when the swelling has gone. When you do shower I woulld try not to get soap on them. I was advised to just let the water run over my boobs. As for moisturiser on scars I think it's different if you have glue so I would check with the clinic what you should do, as I remember one girl was advised to moisturise her glued scars on here. But you really do need to check. You can moisturise your boobs though no problem.
