Not exactly rushing to get measured/fitted
Hi Ladies,
I am almost 6 weeks post op, however I am not really excited to get fitted as I have been unhappy with the size since day 1 if I am being honest. I am so worried about the dissapointment I will feel when I hear the size :( Because of this I may just grab a few sizes and try them on myself. This leads me to 2 questions I hope you can help me with:
** Almost 6 weeks on and my boobs are still hard and unmoveable :( there has only been a slight change in softness and shape since the few days post op. I feel like they have stopped still!! Shall I wait until my boobs have softened before moving onto normal bras?
** I have read lots about the "new" way of measuring boobs, with most ladies pre op having worn a larger band size then they actually needed. I measure 31.5 underneath my boobs but have been wearing a 36 band and still get marks when I take my bra off at night? Is this normal or am I wearing a too small band even now??
Thanks

Re: Not exactly rushing to get measured/fitted
Heya hun, i have exactly the same rib cage measurement as you and i'm wearing a 32 band. I always wore a 34 and never thought anything of it. I tried a 32 on and it fits so much better, and gives much more support for my boobs. I haven't been fitted yet but i was pleasantly surprised when all the E cups i was trying on were too small and had to get F's! You might surprise yourself hun, so just try some on and see! xx

Re: Not exactly rushing to get measured/fitted
I honestly wouldn't even go there with the 'measuring method' sweetness, it's outdated and has been proven to have women in the wrong sized bras for years and given how your feeling my concern is in using that method, you may well end up very disappointed.
It does sound from your description of being very firm with little movement that you still have quite a way to yet with your healing and that's all normal.... I would sugest it would be best if you went to a good lingerie shop, if there's a Bravissimo near you, make an appointment to be fitted there babe... They're probably the best, if not them then any of the big department stores should be just fine if you request to be fitted...
I wouldn't go mad buying bras as from your description, your breasts are still going to change, so just buy a couple to see you through for the next month...
I do think you might be surprised darlin' when you've been properly fitted, you sound so anxious and I do feel this would be the best thing for you babe.
Go get 'fitted' sweetie, you 'need' to get sorted for yourself so go it done 'professionally babe, that way you'll be positive of your sizing and not sat there worrying about.

Thank you ladies especially cookie for your response, I think I will give it another week or so to try and sort my head out! I so wish a bravissamo was near me :( might be worth the 2 hour journey though!
Thanks again xx

Re: Not exactly rushing to get measured/fitted
Aw hun at 6 weeks I dont think my boobs had changed very much since day one, Even though I'd been measured at a 32F my boobs still looked quite small. It was over the following weeks when they continued to change and settle that I became happier. I woould say it was 6 months + for me before I started to think they looked amazing and bras fitted me properly and I had got used to wearing the type of clothes that made my new figure look fab. Give it a bit more time, even though they may have dropped already, they will still have lots of changes to go through.
