It's happening this Saturday...
So!! I'm all paid up and transport arranged, looks like this time I'll really do it!
I'm booked for Saturday morning with Mr Sulaiman on THG. I've asked for 280cc HP and I don't think I'll be changing my mind at this point.
I'm starting to feel all buzzing while another part of me is saying "so it's really happening... sh*t sh*t sh*t!!"
Anyway I'm going to update this thread with any news.
I really have to say thanks to ex Sulaiman patients for showing their pics so that I could make up my mind, and the huge amount of info on the board. I'm quite convinced that my choice of surgeon is right for me and I hope that it will turn out to be this way.
Is, by any chance, anyone else going to be at the Midlands hospital on the same day?
xx

Re: It's happening this Saturday...
Good luck sweetie! I had Mr Sulaiman, and I'm sure I've shown you my pics, but if not feel free to PM me.
He has given me more than I could ever dream for, and I trust him 110%. The staff are lovely, especially the theatre staff. They are really warm and friendly (unheard of in the NHS heehee) and Mr Sulaiman gave me the boobs I always deserved but nature never gave!
So excited for you, can't wait to read your BA story! xxx

Re: It's happening this Saturday...
Flower, hun,
Don't even get me started on the topic of the NHS! LOL!
My rant would last until tomorrow morning. I have had MAJOR gripes with them and wouldn't let anywhere near my boobs even if they offered it for free!
No I don't think I have seen your pics, thanks for your offer, I'll PM you (although you went for much bigger than I will)
Thanks for all the good wishes, I'll keep you updated.
Today I bought some thingies I'll need and tomorrow I'll have to finish my shopping list plus tidy and clean the room.
Nobody at works know what I'm up to so I'll also have to decide whether to tell them tomorrow or leave the surprise for later.......
You will read more 'BA story' here for sure in a bit.........

Oh God.
less than 12 hours to surgery and I've just realised that the sports bras I have are not up to the job.
I'm rushing out to Asda to get one now. I hope they have my size or I'm screwed!

Re: It's happening this Saturday...
Right, so I don't think I have anything that fits perfectly the description of the bra that I should have, because ASDA didn't have my size but I bought the next closest and this is basically what I have.
My new size hopefully will be 36 small B/large C
I have:
1 'medium impact' sports bra size 12 recommended for cups A,B&C, but feels a bit loose
1 'medium' size sports bra with lots of compression (used it for the rice test), feels quite tight so I don't know if it's a good idea to use that one
1 ASDA 38B unwired 'total support' bra
1 ASDA 40C sports bra (I know 40 is too wide for me but it was the next best I could find considering they were low on stock
I hope that at least one of the above will be fit for the job....
PS Thanks Kay and everybody, I've really got the butterflies now, I can't believe it's almost time.

Hi girls,
I've just come round! I feel fine!... although already I feel frustrated that I didn't have the boldness to ask for 25 cc more! early boob greed already...
Dolan Park and the nurses are fantastic. Just a bit sore now... write later x

Re: It's happening this Saturday...
Ok so now I have grabbed my laptop so I can write more!
Forgive any spelling mistake, I'm still stoned from the morphine!
Firstly THANK YOU EVERYONE for sending me good wishes. I love this forum, without it I would have ended up making a mistake, I'm sure, not to mention spending over the odds.
Surgery was good, I'm in no pain, everyone is lovely and I've had some tea and toast already.
As soon as I came around and looked at my boobs I thought, gee, maybe I should have asked fot the next size up (25cc bigger) but I left the surgeon to make that choice during the procedure based on the space available under the muscle and he opted for the smaller of the two implants I had been proposed. This made me fear I'd regret it in time, but hopefully not.
It's funny, 30 seconds before the anaesthesia kicks in you're still thinking "oh god, what if it's too big" but 30 seconds after it's done and you come round all these fears are gone, you're happy for having had it, you have no doubts it was the right thing AND you feel you should have gone for more!
I have to say, this hospital and its staff, in terms of looks and helpfulness, put the NHS to absolute shame. Sure, in the end it's the results of the treatment that count, but the experience and the special attention you feel can make your day so much better. So much better.
I hope I can find some other patient to chat to for the rest of the day now!
Will write something later (out of boredom, probably, than much else) and if anyone wants to ask something just feel free.
Danni
xx

I am at Dolan Park and I'll be staying the night yes.
Based on my rice tests I was suggested to go for either 285 cc or 310 cc unders (Natrelle). I let the surgeon decide based on his judgment during the procedure - he picked the smaller ones.
Woohoo and I have just turned into an Active member!
Your date is coming up fast too!!

Re: It's happening this Saturday...
UPDATE.
I am now at home, one of the hospital drivers drove me here this morning. I was so sad to leave because I was being spoilt rotten, now I'll have to cook for myself again, go get my own juice, and won't have a nurse button that only takes 30 seconds to work...
I had no pain at all for the whole of yesterday but this morning the pain re-appeared and strangely it is not only in the boobs but radiates to the lower ribs and shoulders. Thankfully I have my codeine which I will try to make it last because I like it........ ;)
As for the next 3-4 days I really don't have much to do apart from watching DVDs and reading the forum.... I started off by feeling over-confident but it is now clear that I'm not very sick but neither am I fit to do any meaningful work. By the end of Wednesday I'll be bored stiff!
My perception of the boobs has changed from 'Oh no they're to small' just after surgery, to 'Oh my god they're massive' as I tried some of my old clothes on today. Hopefully there's a happy place in between these extremes. The shape, for the moment, is just weird. I hope I can find things to wear to disguise the compression band and the huge bra when I go back to work. I guess I won't dress very summery for a while.
I think I will be sending a thank you card to Dolan Park as they really have been unimaginably nice to me. Yes I paid pretty money for it but still I'm so impressed.
I'm going to take a few pictures later and put them up.
One of the things that I liked the most at the hospital was meeting other BA patients in their rooms after their surgery and seeing how happy they are. We share our experiences and feel so privileged! :)
