Surgery soon, followed by beach...

Surgery soon, followed by beach... Empty Surgery soon, followed by beach...

Post by shesch1 9th May 2011, 2:38 pm

My surgery is in 10 days, and 14 days afterwards I have a weekend beach trip scheduled...
My mind is racing with questions-
I know I can't get in the water but,
How much pain am I going to be in?
How swollen will I look?
Should I be able to wear my bathing suit with all the surgical tape and whatnot?
I'm starting to fret....

I know everyone heals differently, so if it helps I'm 21 and they're going to be over the muscle.
Thank you ladies :)

Hi hun welcome to the forum. I doubt you will be in any pain at 2 weeks post op. You wont be able to carry anything so I wouldn't try. You could still have swelling and your new boobs probably wont look very natural. Your skin as it has been stretched so it may be worth keeping your new boobs out of the sun and make sure the scars are completely covered. If you have to wear a sports bra you may find it difficult to hide.

hey hun, u may have had ur surgical tape off by then, so wud be able to wear a bikini...but thats if u wanted to, as u may not be comfortable with your boobs at this stage cos they will not have settled from th op.i doubt u will have much bruising 2 weeks post, but swelling is probable.

this was me two weeks post op:

Pain: none what so ever! :)
swelling: nope! :)
Bruising: None!!!
surgical tape: off, gone!!!
would i wear a bikini: YES!, tho my boobs looked and still look, very full and a bit too good to be true, i wud think i may get a few suspicious stares...but it wouldnt bother me, so it depends aftr two weeks if u think u care

hopw that helped a little bit hun xx

I did find mine felt really heavy at 2 weeks post op so wouldn't have wanted to not have the support of a sports bra for more than 5 mins. I would ask your surgeon for his advice on what you should and shouldn't be doing in the early stages of your recovery

Im almost 2 weeks post op and I put on a bathing suit last night and my boobs look very fake.. Not that it is a bad thing.. But they dont fill out the suit very well.. My implant is still really high. As far as pain I think you will be fine.. Every PS Is different but I had my surgical tape removed after the first week.. GL hun!

Alright, I'll let the boyfriend know he's carrying everything haha. I imagined they'd look a little funny and be hard to hide, but I don't mind- I've yet to have a trip to the beach where I wasn't 200% self conscious of the way my boobs looked, so this is nothing new to me :)

Thank you! that was helpful indeed, I hope I'm as fortunate as you were :) While I have you, let me ask about overs- I'm starting out with 36AA and getting silicones, and my parents just swore up and down I wouldn't like them bc they'd be visible and easy to feel through the skin. how has your experience with overs been? I'd prefer not to cut my muscle, and the surgeon was the one who suggested overs, and I have no doubts in his discretion at all.

Did you try adjusting the padding on the lower pole to see if it helped them look right in the bathing suit? That may be something I'll try. From my years of learning to work some padding I have a collection of inserts haha. Thanks :)
