Last minute Questions xxx
Hi Ladies
So it's the day before my reop. I'm strangely calm. My house has been cleaned to the point I would eat off the floor....apart from the area the dog is in Oh and the area that I've swept all the mess to Oh actually I think I'll just eat off a plate
Right here are some last minute questions, if anyone can help me I would be very grateful and if you're really good I might let you look at my breasts.......Oh oops thought you were the postman there for a minute
Thanks everyone
1) I'm kinda still on my period. What shall I do considering I have to wear special needs paper knickers
2) I am dreading the morning after when I wake up in the hospital. I am someone who's hair does not look gr8 in the mornings, usually it looks like I've been breakdancing on my head. So I've tried the dry shampoo but it doesn't help the style. If I can't wash my hair then I can't leave the hospital. I refuse to go out into the world with dodgy hair. What can I do
3) Are you allowed to have your mobile phone on in the hospital or will it affect the lady who is in room 12 who's on a life support machine

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
ok, first off....the period.
i read on here that someone who had there period, was allowed to wear there own pants, complete with sanitary towel or tampon... all i would say is, make sure your pants are 100% cotton!
i would wash your hair as the last thing you do before you leave the house. As for the next morning and leaving, do you have someone whos [picking you up who would be willing to wash it? youll have to stick ur head in the shower in th hospital, but this can be done.
Im thinking you will still be high on GA, so wont feel much pain.Otherwise, a damp comp through your hair, n keep combing until it is almost all wet, n then blow dry or let it dry naturally. At least it will calm the roots, and be more managable!
the lady in rm 12 is gona be fine! mobile phones are very much allowed! Heres a hint, i put mine under my pillow before i went to surgery ( my bed wasnt the one they operated on me with) just check, cos some are! it meant i could reach it to txt loved ones incoherant texts after surgery!
hope all that helped!!

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
Good luck for tomorrow!
I was in the same vote with the hair situation, I have naturally curly hair and I have extentions, so my hair requires a fair bit of work in the mornings, and well I just wore it with a wrap around band and in a pony tail, was the standard look for a while.
As for the phone, I was fine to have and use mine.
I hope it all goes perfect for you, enjoy your new boobs! x

Hey lovely,
Trust me, when you've been sliced open and had two massive balls of silicone shoved in there the last thing you'll care about is your hair!
Take a pair of cotton knickers and a pad with you, you definitely won't be able to wear a tampon, but speak to the nurse beforehand. It shouldn't be a problem.
They should let you use your phone. I was allowed to make calls and use the Internet afterwards.
All the best lovely!

Wear a sanitary towel hun, if you haven't got one (I was on my period and had a tampon in) you will be provided with one by the hospital.

Wear a balaclava! haha I'm messin' hun. You're upright in the hospital bed so your hair won't get too messy sweetness, you won't be able to wash your hair before leaving so you'll just have to make the best of it babe unfortunately.
3) Are you allowed to have your mobile phone on in the hospital or will it affect the lady who is in room 12 who's on a life support machine
Yeah, you're allowed your mobile sweetness, there's no concern at all about you using it in your room, it's fine. xx

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
I wasn't allowed to wear my own cotton knickers, worth buying a pair, but be prepared for wearing the mother of all pants you get in the hospital just incase. xx
Re: Last minute Questions xxx
Hi
My pre-op nurse told me I won't be able to do my own hair for the first week, even tie it in a pony tail, if that's is true, we are BOTH in trouble lol!

A) if anyone thinks I'm not doing my hair for 10 days they iz very stupid!!! I'll be on it as soon as I get home!
b) Why do my knickes have to be 100% cotton? Will the nice docs notice if they are 95% cotton and 5% elastine?

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
Hi Yetti
Firstly - good luck, is it third time lucky, will be thinking of you???
I'm sure the doc won't be checking your knickers that closely, I wore some lady boxers when I had mine done as I was also on my period, more secure that skimpies!!!! :boobstick:
I'd get your other half to treat you to a couple of wash and blowdrys during your recovery, a bit of extra pampering never does any harm.
Phone's are not an issue nowadays - just make sure it's charged - I forgot in the heat of the moment and ended up borrowing by hubbies.
Take care. XXXX

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
Dont know about cotton underwear. I tried it they said no. As for your hair only thing to do is clip it back or a hat. You'll survive the outside with messy hair. I promise. Yes mobile and laptops are allowed
Re: Last minute Questions xxx
A hat...OMG I've only got a dog walking beanie!!!! I'll just make sure I don't move my head and I'll warn the surgeon team not to mess my hair up It's funny coz after my first op, as I was coming round with the feeling like an elephant was sat on my chest, my friend was coming my hair.....When I asked her the next day if I'd dreamt it she said "no hun, but you looked such a state and I knew you wouldn't want to look like that so I combed it" Oh bless her heart, that's true friendship

Re: Last minute Questions xxx
Do you know what...if I think about it, this hair thing stems back from school. I've always had a high forehead so I was called Tefal head or spam by all the boys. So the thought of my fringe being off my face makes me think all the docs and nurses will start giggling and singing "spam head, spam head" everytime they see me
