Post by lola_blsk 4th May 2011, 7:47 am

Hey girls. So I'm 6 weeks PO and I've got my appt tomorrow but the nurse told me to buy a vitamin E cream to put on my scars.... I can't use bio oil as it bought me up in a nasty sore rash last time....

Does any one reccommend any prodicts and where I can buy them from. I went to 2 boots and 3 chemists yesterday and they were all so un helpful and could only offer me bio-oil...

I'd appreciate ur help girlies xxxxxxxx

Vitamin E Cream? Empty Re: Vitamin E Cream?

Hi,

I've read this: "However, make sure the cream that contains a good amount of vitamin E. Creams that pack a vitamin E content of 1% or less are not worth your hassle."

Found a cream at Holland & Barrett haven't tried it myself though as i'm only 13 days post op.

Heya hun, i bought palmers stretch mark lotion from boots, it has vitamin E in and its good for scars and stretch marks. Its got a pregnant lady on the bottle and its like a pump. I've found its helped with my stretch marks so it can only be good on scars too :) xxx

the only thing with vitamin e is that its uses are limited without having vitamin c too.Vitamin c renews vitamin e so with out it its purely an anti oxidant....Vitamin A will work better on scars.Vit A works at a cellular level while cocoa butter etc just works on the surface although i do like cocoa butter for how nourishing it is!! :good:

forgot to say retinyl palmitate (oil soluble vit a) is what your looking for - retinyl acetate is too strong to start with and retinol will make you break out and go rashy if you dont let your skin adjust to it slowly
