When I had my first op?. I'd have changed my whole attitude toward BAs, This is a massive decision to have made and I should have given more thought, time and research to it before jumping in.

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Biggest IS NOT always best!
When agreeing to have the breast 'filled' with no option to consider I believed this was my best and only choice, initially after waking and seeing two massive boobs I was thrilled! I'd never had 'boobs' so it was fantastic! But... after a couple of years when the novelty of them had worn off I became self conscious of just how big my boobs were and resented any comment that was directed toward my boobs and because they were so 'out there' I got a lot. I began to detest jokes about MY boobs, which with any conversation, it always seemed to end with my boobs being the butt of some joke, I didn't seem to exist any more, I was nothing but a pair of boobs... some reading this may even laugh at my post, but I hated how my boobs made me feel.
I tire of reading "get as big as you can get" forget that and NEVER listen to that, the biggest implant is NOT the best option, the best option is the implant that best suits your wants from your augmentation and it's up to you to ensure your surgeon knows exactly what it is that you want and if you have doubts, question them until both you and your surgeon are happy with the surgery plan, take pictures in to help them understand, your surgeon works in volume, I know that now, I asked for a 'cup size' and boy was my idea of a D cup a hell of a lot different to my surgeons!
well said Cookie!!! I am so glad that you said this, I have to admit...and I'm trying to tread very lightly cause I think this is an amazing forum and I have gotten awesome advise but....since joining the forum I felt that maybe I should have gone bigger, where as before I was happy with the size I got. I have had my husband constantly reminding me why I went the size I did..So again thank you cookie that is the best thing I've heard!!!

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Good words Cookie.
I only went for relative small ones and got my closest friends to give me their opinion with the rice boobs. They told me I have the capacity to go bigger but what the surgeon has recommended is perfect for my frame. They are big enough for me to notice and small enough for people to not notice in the right clothes.
I asked for a "C" and to "look good in clothes" I have ended up with a DD/E although I only have a 30 back so they are actually what I imagined a C was. The pre op nurse did warn me that they would be bigger than a C so that is another person worth talking to about size.
Everyone should get what is right for them. Some people here like the massive look and good for them. I hope I am correct to say they are actually a minority and most of us just want to look "normal" whatever that may be.
This forum has been a massive help in choosing implants for me. I consider that the hardest part as it is the one thing you don't know what it will look like until you wake up, and even then there are a lot of changes ahead.

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Have loved reading this and the comments/advice. You are fabulous, Cookie.
Although I have had problems, I havent regretted getting my BA. Having just had my second, I couldnt go back to being without my lady lumps, I was insecure and miserable pre BA at an AA after breast feeding and losing my nice C's.
I am hoping my new ones serve me well...though, like Cookie said, am more prepared this time that I may encounter problems along the way. xx

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Here here cookie great advice as always!
Bigger is NOT always better and however great your surgeon is, however much you trust him and feel comfortable with him, have seen him work etc etc s/he is only human at the end of the day. My surgeon is BAAPS registered, works in the private sector and is a prolific NHS surgeon too. He was also one of the founding surgeons of MyBreast. I had a reop 10 weeks after my original BA to correct muscle flex distortion and DB. Thankfully not massive complications and being with a reputable company with great after care meant I didn't have a fight on my hands to get it sorted.
Don't want to frighten people unnecessarily but just be aware that mistakes do happen however well you research.

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Db is double bubble where you have a ridge like and extra crease at the bottom of each boob. Muscle flex distortion happens when you flex the pectoral muscles and the implant distorts into the most hideous shape. I had a placement change with more or less sorted the problem but I can still see it if I look hard. Only a full uplift will correct it completely. The distortion is still visible but ps said this is now due to scar tissue and will fade over time (I'm now 2 years post op). I don't blame my ps at all. He chose to put the implants under the muscle because at the time I had very little breast tissue and had mild ptosis. He admitted it was the wrong decision but said he had no way of knowing that at the time.
