Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Oh yes hun, I remember those feelings well. I was really freaked out about feeling them inside me and if I would hate it. The honest answer is no, you can't feel it, you feel weird sensations for the first few weeks such as air bubbles or they can feel heavy, but it's not the type of feeling you are worried about. Your body should not reject the implants hun, try not to worry. They may look far apart at first while the implant sits high, but they usually come together, if they do not this should hopefully be covered in your aftercare package. Try not to worry about things that can go wrong. It's good that you know the risks, and nearly all of them are correctable with a re op if necessary. Honestly these things will go through your mind constantly, but remember to be excited to, your going to be fine
Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?

Thats a good way to think of it hun, think positive. Even the girls who have suffered complications don't usually regret their new boobs.
Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Im preba too and Im not planning on getting mine till this dec so I can heal over winter but Im still nervous, Ive been wanting boobs for 5 years already but my nerves have been getting the best of me. However this time feels different. I found a great doctor and I know he will do a great job, I have total trust in him. I found the right implants and implant size for my body so Im sure they will look great. I think you just really need to trust you doctor and have great support to make you feel better. This site helps so so so much!!

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
I will never regret my BA, it's been life changing for me, I'm still very much the same person, but a far a better version!!!
What I do regret though is not taking more time to know the things I know now.... Pushing that excited part of the brain aside and replacing it with the sensible bit!
I wish I'd done more research and had the knowledge and support from somewhere like BJSF (I never had anything like this when I had my first surgery)
I wish I'd listened more, instead of thinking I knew it all!
Don't get me wrong, I have a nice pair of boobs and I'm so thankful and very much a happier person for having them. But I know, if I had just stopped and given more thought to the surgery I'd have realised what a MASSIVE thing this was going to be and something that was going to be ongoing for the rest of my life! and would have realised the importance of the decision and donated more time to ensuring I was getting the best for my body and mind, rather than just concentrating on the best for my 'look'... I deeply regret not giving thought further than the day I woke up and was just made up to have 'boobs' but hindsight is a wonderful thing and if anyone is reading me, I at least hope some may take something from the things I've learned and really put thought into your surgery PRE-OP to ensure that for you as a whole, you KNOW you've done all you can to get the very best from your surgery....

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Hear hear Cookie xx Couldn't agree more xx
For all the pre oppers reading, you really need to have your wits about your when you go to your consults and when you speak with Surgeons xx you need to check and double check what sort of aftercare you are going to get and what is going to happen if things go wrong and remember, YOU ARE THE CUSTOMER xx Remember this is your body and your money xx Like Cookie says surgery is a big thing and a big decision that you really need to consider carefully xx
Much love xx

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Implants all the different makes and types
profiles of implants, guarentee of implants (how long). Implant reputation and quality. Clinic reputation, aftercare and how good it is, whether the clinics actually stick to their promises on aftercare. Risks and complications, what would need to be done if something went wrong.. I would assume it was things like that.

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
Is it Dr Epstien, he has a good CV. I like the look of the 3D body scanner thing, did they do that for you?
Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
no he didnt
he said he will do that on my next visit, where he will chose the right implant and size for me
so far he just mesure my breast tissue and said that my tissue is very thin and he would want to put my implants under the muscle, also he said he is using the dualn plane techniqe and i shouldnt be in any pain,... i was very nervous on myb consult and forgot to ask questions thats why having my next consult in 2 weeks,
also he wants me to get mamogram, he said its standard procedure... did you have to have on done?

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
No didn't have to have a mamogram, they dont really test you for anything over here unless they think something is wrong. He'll be giving you partial unders then (dual plane) probably best if you dont have enough tissue. I'm sure they will give you painkillers if needed. I'd love to know how you get on with the 3D scanner and 24 hour recovery. Will be great to see how you get on
Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
i'm one week post surgery and don't regret it one bit. i know things can go wrong and i stressed about it before hand but im taking it day by day. if anything happens i'll deal with it then, there's no point panicking about something that will probably never happen. it's good to know the potential risks but i wouldn't dwell on it too much. im a worrier and i panic about everything but the best advice i can give is just think of the end result. eyes on the prize ladies! :) im trying to upload some pics now being one week post BA so if you wanna see that to find what to expect youre more than welcome :) xx

When I had my first op?. I'd have changed my whole attitude toward BAs, This is a massive decision to have made and I should have given more thought, time and research to it before jumping in.
Complications happen to other people, not to me! HA! how naive was I... No matter how good your implant or surgeon or clinic is complications can happen! I wish I'd been prepared in my mind for having to deal with a complication, but I wasn't, I was blind to the fact that it could happen to me and blind to the fact that an aftercare policy covered EVERYTHING, it doesn't! So check, check and check again just exactly what you're covered for. I also resented that something happened to 'me' and how I was made to feel and the fight I had to take on to repair the damage, I wasn't ready for any of it, I really was that naive and I believed that everyone was as honest as I am.... They're not. If you have a problem/concern, big or small, ensure it's WRITTEN in your notes, don't just take for granted that it is, check that it is, because should the concern be cause for a possible re-op later, it's the notes that will be referred to, not the conversation to complain you just had!
A surgeon may not always have your 'future' interests in mind if you don't either!
Looking back on my first BA, my boobs weren't that bad, I suppose a better surgeon would have called them 'borderline uplift' knowing now what I do, I should have been advised to have an uplift or at least have been given the option instead of having the breast 'filled' which was the wrong decision. I don't entirely blame that on my surgeon, he was just happy to please me when I said I wanted bigger boobs after having breast fed two kids, I didn't KNOW there were other options I could have considered and he didn't tell me, he also didn't prepare me for how big.
Biggest IS NOT always best!
When agreeing to have the breast 'filled' with no option to consider I believed this was my best and only choice, initially after waking and seeing two massive boobs I was thrilled! I'd never had 'boobs' so it was fantastic! But... after a couple of years when the novelty of them had worn off I became self conscious of just how big my boobs were and resented any comment that was directed toward my boobs and because they were so 'out there' I got a lot. I began to detest jokes about MY boobs, which with any conversation, it always seemed to end with my boobs being the butt of some joke, I didn't seem to exist any more, I was nothing but a pair of boobs... some reading this may even laugh at my post, but I hated how my boobs made me feel.
I tire of reading "get as big as you can get" forget that and NEVER listen to that, the biggest implant is NOT the best option, the best option is the implant that best suits your wants from your augmentation and it's up to you to ensure your surgeon knows exactly what it is that you want and if you have doubts, question them until both you and your surgeon are happy with the surgery plan, take pictures in to help them understand, your surgeon works in volume, I know that now, I asked for a 'cup size' and boy was my idea of a D cup a hell of a lot different to my surgeons!
Think beyond today!
When you have a BA, chances are this will NOT be your one and only surgery, you may have children later, hormones may cause your breasts to change, as you age you lose skin elasticity... all these things will have an effect on your breasts over the years, so you need to both know and prepare yourself for possible future ops, purely for cosmetic reasons if you want to upkeep the look of your boobs in the future.
Sale of the century!
Finally I now know that breast augmentation is BIG BUSINESS and makes clinics and surgeons BIG MONEY and they all want your money. Without it, they'd have no business!
This is a very competative business and getting the best deal or the cheapest price is NOT the way to plan your surgery. Forget money and put your health and your body first!
Money was an issue when I had my first BA, hindsight, I'd have saved more money and had a better surgeon in the first place!.
I've learned so much since my first BA and that's not even because like the admin and mods who unselfishly took it upon themselves to learn more, to take that step further in knowing about BAs so that they can give back to you... no, I and another mod here ShootingStar, we learned a hard way the downside of cosmetic surgery, ShootingStar more so than myself, we HAD to learn more because we HAD to help ourselves!!!! and I know there's a few other ladies on this forum who know also learned more the hard way too.
Having a BA for those that really want this surgery gives you the most fantastic feeling in the world and there's more positives to having the surgery than there are negatives, but it means not just sitting back and thinking everything will be OK, it means adding a little legwork yourself to get the best for you...
I'm not saying everything will be perfect with knowledge, but at least you'll be prepared and will have taken every step to have the best with absolutely no regrets!. xx

Re: anyone who regrets getting boobies done?
wow! that's great advice cookie!
i went to a spire open evening and was really glad when the surgeon was turning people down for surgery for numerous reasons and told one girl that he wasnt putting in the size implants she wanted because they would look totally unnatural. I had consultations with the hospital group and harley medical but felt more comfortable with spire. i think its mostly because theyre not primarily cosmetic and my surgeon works as an nhs head of dept so only works there once a fortnight. he clearly stated hes not in private medicine for the money, its because he genuinely wants to make a difference and will only carry out procedures if he feels there will be a dramatic improvement to the individual. even when i was on the ward several nurses said that if they ever had surgery it'd be with him and the nurse who took me to theatre had a tummy tuck with him in january.
in a nutshell, i'd advise you to go with a recommended surgeon who you know is good and will give you what you want, a natural finish and will treat you with respect and give you honest and professional advice. you could opt for a particular company and have a less personal approach or end up with a surgeon who'd agree to do it because of the financial reward to them (as i believe happened to a friends sister who went with a big cosmetic company).
i may be way off the mark, but i dont think anyone can contradict the importance of feeling 100% happy with your surgeon and feel entirely comfortable trusting them with the most important thing, your body.
hope this helps a bit xx
