Left breast is higher still...
Hey ladies,
Some of my past posts have mentioned the slight change in healing of each breast of mine. I'm 5 weeks post op on Friday and still in the same boat. Is it still normal to have this change or should everything be the same with each one now?
My right still seems much more natural and the nipple is pointing more down - like the whole breast seems more relaxed, my left is higher, more round looking and more firm. You can't tell in clothes or a bra - it's not a drastic difference either but when I'm naked and obviously looking at their progression I'm starting to wonder... should it still be like this...
I'm not wearing a bra for bed now - as per my surgeons advice last time I seen him (my follow up appointment, 2 weeks post op), he said all was fine and as it should be - i mentioned the change and he said at 2 weeks this was perfectly natural and I was healing well.
Just looking for some advice really and others past experiences of whether this has happened to them and if they will drop to be the same... I'm not over reacting...yet :good:
Thanks girls xxxx

Re: Left breast is higher still...
Hey darlin,
each breast is like its own separate procedure. I have read posts form a couple ladies on this board who had one stubborn boob, and with time they do even out. Sometimes their doctor had them to special things, like massage, or wear a strap.
Your surgeon said everything is fine at the 2-week point, so trust him! Will you be seeing him at six weeks? (A lot of surgeons do a six-week visit.) If so, probably no harm in waiting a few more days and ask him then. If not, maybe you should call and schedule a visit so he can see them, and you will have some peace of mind.
Five weeks is still pretty early on. If your surgeon tells you need to do something, follow his advice but till then I wouldn't worry sweetie. We feel like we have had our new boobs forever, till the lovely ladies here come along and remind us how much healing lies ahead. :)

You are still quite early. Have your PS suggest using a breast band/strap to help push your leftie down?

Re: Left breast is higher still...
Thanks for your posts ladies. Sorry I've only just managed to log on.
My surgeon didn't mention a breast strap or anything no. I slept in a sports bra for just over 2 weeks then opted for a soft bra in the day and none at night.
I think maybe the surgeon said to stop wearing a bra at night to help them drop, at first I was scared to let go of my security bra but since i have I have to say I've noticed my leftie starting to catch up. There's still a difference but I can feel hopeful it's normal and just the healing and not me or my surgery :good:
HAPPY DAYS! Thank you for all your kind words and reasurance. I'm due to see my surgeon again on the 19th May so hopefully by then I'll have matching boobs! YAY! xxxxxxxxxx

You're just fine hunni, don't worry.
I had 'wonky' boobs till 10 weeks post-op and then I woke up one day and could suddenly see a massie cange that got better and better over a two week time scale, by te time I was 12 weeks post-op they were perfectly matched!
You're still very much healing hunni - Give your boobs a bit more time, they'll come good soon enough. xx

Re: Left breast is higher still...
Aw thank you so much for that post - made me feel better. To be honest I'm not looking too closely at them at the mo LOL... I know I'm still early on and I'm just shoving a bra / top on - theirs no point scrutinizing them until I'm all healed is there. They have got lots better though - now my 34D bra is a tad too tight! oooo exciting - can't wait to go buy sexy bras! Nearly 6 weeks post op and they say thats when you can get first measured isn't it? YAY! Thanks again lovelies xxx
