Post by kinkyboots33 28th March 2011, 7:59 pm

Hi all!

for those of you that dont know i had a BA 7 months ago, it was obvious since day 1 that things weren't as they should be, even the nurse at my 10 day check said i will prob need a lift or bigger implant... anyway, I have been back and forth to the clinic being fobbed of by "there getting better" "it takes time" etc etc.

long story short! i have the dreaded double bubble... had it confirmed by three different ps (highly qualified baps etc reg) but my ps will take no responsibility, he is in total denial either that he is even worse than i thought and doesnt even know the difference growl

at my consultation he said i was borderline for an uplift but since im not 18 anymore i wasnt too worried of my nipple position, without the lift he explained my nipple position would sit lower than the "ideal" but i would still get a good result sick they are worse than what i started with! i think he just told me what i wanted to hear.... there was def no mention of me still having excess skin (double bubble) i also have total numbness, nerve damage and at 7 months po i still have mondors cord!

so, im now having to look into suing them and getting compensation so i can pay to get them fixed elsewhere nope as they actually have the nerve to tell me that i need to pay for the revision and it wont be carried out until i was 12 months po hissy

this whole situation has gone on way to long and cant believe they ******* actually get away with these things......

sorry for the rant but i actually think im gonna loose the plot at any moment!

I'm so sorry you're going through that kinkyboots, I think it's all of our worst nightmare when it comes to surgery, something going wrong. I can't believe they wont help you though!
Have you told them you've got these other second opinions?

Rant away, maybe someone on here will be able to give you some advice that could help.

yeah, they just dont give a **** , they just said that ps all differ in opinions but COME ON!!! 3 VERY QUALIFIED PS compared to one ps from Transform, surley 3 cant all be wrong!?

i made a formal complaint 5 weeks ago, the response was very patronising..... thats when the free revision changed to me having to pay for it, id rather stick pins in my eyes, truly i would!

Sorry to hear you are having problems. What does it state in your aftercare? Glad you've bypassed your surgeon and gone to the administration as they are the ones who would ultimately decide whether you can have a re-op. It can sometimes be a battle so don't give up and we are always here for moral support. It seems Transform quite often make you jump through hoops but as some of the ladies on here will tell you perseverence does pay off. Stick to your guns and tell them you didn't get what you paid for. Good luck xx

thanks ladies...

iv sent away for a full aftercare policy and my medical records..... but im sure it says that if the ps thinks you need more surgery then it will be given foc

the other problem is... i just dont want my ps touching me again, an uplift is a much more complex op and feel if he cant do a straight forward BA how the heck is he gonna manage a lift?!

Oh dear.... 'another' Transform story I hear all too much of, I went through the same myself lovely.

What you need to do now is write back to the clinic manager (is it Lyndsey Mullins by any chance?) and refuse her offer - Explain in detail the problem, include pics if you can, give names, dates and clinic names of the surgeons you got second opinions from all stating and confirming that you have double bubble.

Include details and dates if you can of each vist you've had to the clinic and how you have stated your disappointment in the result from day one which has led to you having double bubble.

Unfortunately as you 'agreed' to the surgery, even though you were informed you were 'borderline' for an uplift, there will be little you can do about being unhappy with the result of that sweetness, it's what's actually written on those notes that will be entering a courtroom hun and Transfprm know that, forget the flannel you were given, none of that will have been written I assure you, just that your breasts were borderline uplift, but you chose an augmentation, I know that's hard to hear but I don't want to give you false hope, if you now feel you need an uplift, you'll probably have to pay the extra for that sweetie. That aside though, the revision to rectify the double bubble complication should be free.

As for the nerve damage, there's still time for the sensation to return, this may be the reason you've been requested to wait till you're 12 months post-op as it can take up to a year for all sensation to return, and unfortunately if it doesn't, then this is one of the risks we all undertake when signing up for this surgery and there will be nthing you can do about that, I too have nerve damage sweetness so I know what I'm talking about babe.

The mondors cord, although you still have it hun, eventually will settle.

You just need to hang on in there sweetie, stay strong 'cos you're gonna have a fight on your hands - I sincerely hope you get everything you need to give you your dream boobs for free.

Push for everything and DON'T back down, be sure to document ALL details, so you have as much evidence as possible to back up your request.

Good luck sweetness, I hope you get a better result next time. xx

Post by kinkyboots33 29th March 2011, 8:24 am

I have done all of the above you have mentioned hun, in my first letter to them i went into detail of all the conversations, dates and sent lots of pictures to Lindsay and to Caroline who is my clinic manager, they did not even acknowledge/mention any of the details or pics, the letter was very patronising and to me the only reason they wont admit its DB is because the revision would have to be done for free!? i need to prove it is DB.

As for getting the double bubble fixed, the only way to fix it is have an uplift which i got told would be free but since complaining i now have to pay! they are a joke!!! my ps said i would get a good result WITHOUT the lift, the only problem he said was that my nipple position would sit lower than "ideal".... i actually have the same problem as Abbie.

Im not too concerned re the numbness/nerve damage etc as i know these ARE all possible complications, i was just ranting last night.

OK, what you need to do is reject the offer, stand your ground and request you have a second opinion from another surgeon of their choice.

They may just offer you an op to tighten up the bottom of both pockets? this is sometimes done with double bubble and believe me they'll do all they can to do as little as possibly needed to keep within the legal boundries, they have that all stitched up hun, I've been down that road - Harsh hun but due to you being told you were borderline for an uplift, the choice was 'yours' to proceed either way and these complications are risks to us all and you would have been made aware of all the risks involved with this surgery - in saying that if it's proven you have double bubble, then they are in breach of contract if they don't offer you the surgery needed to fix your boobs.

Stand your ground and DEMAND a second opinion, tell them you are not satified with the results and if they aren't happy to accept what the surgeons you visited said, then you're happy to see another surgeon of their choice for a second opinon.

I had a ruptured implant hun, which distorted my breast, causing it to enlarge and the surgeon who saw me said the ONLY way I could have a normal looking breast would be to have an uplift, they refused me the uplift, but offered me a free re-op, replacing the faulty implant, by law, this was all they needed to do as the sagging from the distortion was no fault of the surgeons, but an effect of the rupture, they had me all ways! So I after a very long and tiresome fight with Transform had to settle for them paying for my surgery, further aftercare and overnight stay (I ended up staying 2 nights) and replacement implants. As I wanted my breasts to look asthetically right, I had to fund the uplift myself, they made me an offer of I think around £5,000 to repair the damage THEY did to my breasts, I rejected this offer and got it down to £3,000.

It's disgusting that women are teated in this way, but they have every loop hole tied up!

Keep at it though sweetness, t really does pay to keep going, don't just settle for being told NO, fight your corner and insist you want the uplift to now fix your breasts. I know it's frustrating and tiresome lovely, I've been there hun and know how upsetting this all is, it really takes it out of you and you feel so defeated - But this isn't the end hunni, you've only just started! Keep at it and DON'T take no for an answer. xx

hey...

"an op to tighten up both pockets" would this be the donut lift he was suggesting? easiest, cheapest quick fix!

do you think it would be a good idea to get something in writing from a couple of different ps? both agreeing i have db.

did you seek any legal advice re all your probs? i cant believe they wanted you to pay £5k to fix it, make me soooo angry! did you keep the same ps?

thanks for all your advice

ps im waiting to hear back from them as they have promised me an app with Mr Lahoud, do you have any idea of how impartial my consultation will be? or am i just wasting my time...

kinkyboots33 wrote:"an op to tighten up both pockets" would this be the donut lift he was suggesting? easiest, cheapest quick fix!

No sweetheart, a doughnut lift involves incisions around your areola, removing skin in a 'doughnut shape' to lift the breast, this is the least invasive of the breast lifts (there are 3 lifts - the doughnut, the lollipop and the full anchor lift) but will lift the breast, the only scarring you will have from this lift will be around the areola. I wouldn't call this lift cheap or easy sweetness.

do you think it would be a good idea to get something in writing from a couple of different ps? both agreeing i have db.

If it's possible for you to get a surgeon to write their diagnosis down for you to use - YES! definately hun - They want 'proof' you'd then be handing it to them.

did you seek any legal advice re all your probs?

I did hun, I was told Transform and groups like them have all the legalities of most possible eventualities stitched up and although it's often unfair, there's nothing they can do to help, I personally feel more should be done in the law to protect women from the consequences that might occur from cosmetic surgery.

If you feel you have a case, then it's always worth a phonecall for advice, alot will offer an hour of their time for free and tell you whether or not they feel it's worth proceeding with.

i cant believe they wanted you to pay £5k to fix it, make me soooo angry! did you keep the same ps?

I was furious babe and so upset, it was a horrible time in my life, but I'm all done and happy now.

I didn't keep the same PS. My original surgeon had retired since my surgery so I was allocated another, the first one I saw I refused to allow him to go anywhere near me! His advice and lack of compassion or even the need to examine me had me yet again refusing surgery with them until I saw someone else LOL... Took me a whole lot of backwards and forwarding of letters, but I got my way and another surgeon who I'm happy to say was very caring and considerate to my needs.

thanks for all your advice

ps im waiting to hear back from them as they have promised me an app with Mr Lahoud, do you have any idea of how impartial my consultation will be? or am i just wasting my time...

From my experience of seeing two seperate surgeons I got very different responses from them both, so I would say, yes, the consultation will be impartial hunni.

You stick to your guns babe, whatever you do, don't back down, they will come back with something different, hopefully the lift you need and DEFINATELY dont settle till you get it for free!

keep us informed how things go for you hun. xx
