What to expect at Pre-Op???
Hi Girls....
Just wondering what i should expect when i go for my pre-op tomorrow.
Do the nurse's take blood tests/urine etc etc?
Trying to keep calm but the nerves are creeping back arghhhh.
Any help on what to expect at my app. might help put my mind more at ease

Re: What to expect at Pre-Op???
Heya hun, at my pre-op i had my blood pressure, temperature and pulse taken. Swabs taken from my groin, throat and nose. And yes i did have to get blood taken, but not everybody does. They may do a urine test then, but i had mine on the day of my op, to check if i was pregnant or not. Don't worry hun its a breeze, the nurses will make you feel so at ease :) xxx

As betty said, it's just blood pressure and swabs from nose and throat, I didn't have a urine test and they said they don't normally test blood, but they did on me cos I'd recently had a baby.
Oh and they took before pics. x

Girls!
My op is TOMORROW!! Alittle bit worried now. At work at the moment but cant really concenrate on anything. I worried about what I need to take with me and what I wont need. Then worried about what will happen at work and if my staff need me and I wont feel up to go back after a week. I havent really told anyone Im having it done and now want to shout it from the roof tops!
Someone please calm me down!

Hi Heroes
This is all natural and you must be so excited yes a little nervous. I know people who had a family BBQ 2 days after their BA, however others need a little longer but I'm sure you'll be fine depending on what you do for work....if you're a weight lifter you might struggle If you're a builder....you might struggle :heehee: , it really does depend.
Good luck for tomorrow hun I'm sure you're more organised than you're giving yourself credit for.

I am just going for my pre-op tomorrow and that's makeing me nervous, never mind the actual BA.
Good-Luck you will be fine.
The best thing you can do is to listen to your body; take it easy :console:
