periareolar incision and breastfeeding?? help!
Im 11days post op and got the incision around my areola. I spoke to my surgeon about the fact that when i have children i plan (definitely want to) breastfeed, and he said less than 1% of women have trouble breastfeeding after BAs so i was happy with that. we then went on to agree that the periareolar incision was best for me as i wanted to correct asymmetry as well as increase size.
ive now been reading online that you are 5 times more likely not to be able to breastfeed if you get the incision around the areola! is this true?!?
has anyone successfully breast fed after having this?
thanks very much, really worried!

i heard that it can damage the milk ducts and should be avoided if you want to breastfeed, so not sure why your surgeon said that.
You might be ok though

I breastfed just fine with my implants and the same incision site! You should have no problem. I did it for 15 months and never even gave it a thought about the incision site, I was more afraid that I wouldnt be able to breast feed my son like I did my other two. I actually think my milk production was better that before! You will be fine!
