Post by kaboobie 13th February 2011, 4:43 pm

Hey Girls,

I had silicone high profile, 400cc, areola incision with minor mastopexy... after my BA my PS mentioned when I was still half out of it that there are two small incisions to the lower sides of each boob, anyone know why this may be>??? and why i wasnt told until after the surgery?? Also, one seems to be bigger than the other, is this just bc they are so new and going to heal at different rates, or could this be dis-placement of the implants? they looked great when i had just woke up but i was on my back and drugged up lol... now i think im becoming more critical, has anyone else had the same as me and would like to shed dome like for me???or maybe take a look at my pics once my hubby gets them on for me to give me your opinions????
thanks girls

Don't know what the small incisions are hun, you'll probably have to ask your surgeon about these,
You are still very early after the op and they will heal at different rates and it is not unusual to have different sizes immediately afterwards. It can take several months for them to even out so certainly no need to be worried at this moment in time.
Other than that, how are you feeling?? Hope the pain isn't too bad

I think it is what you guys call donut lift in the Uk. Where they move your areola up, to even them out?.... we had discussed areola incision and im kind of mad right now im going to have scars to the bottom sides of each boob bc this was not discussed with me, nor explained why, just told afterwards... the reason i was getting donut lift is bc i didnt want scaring under my boob, so not sure why he thought he could just do what he wanted without explaining to me... im maybe over reacting, but it is my body....
just hoping once they heal they look good and im happy with them, and the scaring is minimal, :O(

Congrats on the new boobies kaboobie.

I'm sure the uneveness is nothing to worry about hun, as you have said yourself they do heal at different rates, and it is very early days yet. Try not to worry. Not sure what the extra incisions are. How big are they?

Maybe the small incisions were for drains your surgeon put in during surgery, how big ar they? Drain incisions are pretty small and almost disappear to a small dot. He may not have planned to use them but needed to when you were under. He should have told you what they were for though. I would ask!!! xxx

thing is, if he needed to take extra off, then its better he does it while youre still under no?

I was supposed to be having a lollipop lift on one side and a doughnut on the other, and it turned out he needed to do an anchor on one side and a lollipop on the other. Better that than leaving excess skin drooping.

Or maybe its just where the drains are as others have said.
Either way, if the marks are small, theyre likely to fade to nothing within a few months, so try not to worry too much xx

My husband also said not to worry, which makes me feel better, bc i didnt want scars bc i know we were worried about scaring etc.. and yes better to have him do it right, but he couldve explained it to my husband while i was in recovery, or explained to the nurse to tell me, anything wouldve made me feel better, hearing from anyone. im just going to bring it up at my post op, which isnt for 3 weeks, but he should know it made me uncomfortable and what my expectations were so maybe someone else wont go through the same worries as me, maybe next time hell better explain why instead of just saying it and then leaving the room while still half out of it. Anywys, im going to try not to stress so i can focus on healing first, and at my 3 weeks check up ill see how they sit and how the incisions are. i cant see them much right now, bc theya re too new to have to steri strips etc off yet. :O) thanks for all your help girls, it does make me feel much better

Hey you. I am thinking it is either drains or that he went in and inserted the implant submammary. I also like you had a minor mastopexy, but he inserted my implants through the crease under boobs. Although I knew all this ahead of time so I didn'twake up and think omg what happened?! My dr. doesn't use drains so I dont know what to tell you they would look like besides a little straw that lead into a tiny thing that collects blood- but im thinking that you will be okay no matter what it is, and submammary scars usuallygo away completely. I hope you feel better!!

Well my PS office called to see how I was doing today, and when I asked about the extra incisions she said they may have ton a bit of lipo, or reduction of extra skin near the folds so I didnt end up with lumps of extra skin/fast... which reassures me in knowing he did it to make them look best.... so im re-assured for now. I let her know my concern of one projecting quite a bit more than the other and she said that also is normal and that right now time is my best friend and to just get better, and they make sure for me everything turned out good at my post op appointment in 3 weeks. So I will see them March 9th.... heres to trying to be patient !!!! lol
