Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Well I saw Mr Frati, as many of you know, at Rubicon and although I told him before the examination he never mentioned needing an uplift. And neither did Keren, my PCC at Transform. I am meeting Mr Lahoud at Transform tonight.
But at my meeting with Nadja at MYA I told her about me having tubular breasts and she was adamant that I would need an uplift.
So, obviously I will see what Mr Lahoud says tonight, but would any of you even consider an uplift on the word of one PCC? It's just she has got me worried about possible "side effects" of having a BA without uplift/dissection of breast tissue to resolve the tubular breasts. But I am thinking if Mr Lahoud and Mr Frati both think that just implants are fine, then I shouldn't need an uplift - right??
Did any of you have tubular breasts and have this issue??

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Hi Rach,
So am I right in reading that so far you've only seen one actual PS? If this is so, I would wait to see what this other PS says tonight, Mr Lahoud. Ask him if he sometimes does uplifts with tubular breasts......as maybe if this is so perhaps only happens in severe cases...maybe yours is mild?
I would also see another good PS for third opinion with another company and see what they say.....I think isn't the usual problem with tubular breasts the narrow base of the breast rather than the sagginess?
I would ask lots of questions tonight when you go, write them down so you don't forget once you are in there, nerves get the better of you!
Good luck xxx

Hi Rach,
Good advice from Tonic there hunni. I certainly wouldn't take the word of the PCC, she's not a surgeon and he/she are the experts.
Good luck.

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Hey Rach,
I have slightly tubular breasts and was told at my previous consultation that just implants would be fine for me, still have another one to go too.
It depends on how low your nipples are I would go with the surgeons, maybe ask if you are worried. I'd thought it would have been on the top of the list of things to mention if you needed one. Just some Tubular breasts are droopyer than others, maybe Nadja at MYA was thinking of really bad tubular breast, because its defiantly not the case for all.
Hope Mr Lahoud can put your mind at ease, let us know how you get on.

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Hi Rach
I have a specific issue too (asym rather than tubular). Make sure the surgeon actually shows you some pics of tubular breasts they have done. If they don't have any pics they are willing to show you I'd be very wary. The surgeon I saw at Transform didnt even show me any before and after pics, and I just think, what have you got to hide?

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Hey everyone.
Tonic thanks for your advice hun xx.
Right well I have seen Mr Frati at Rubicon who didnt mention needing an uplift and he examined me, measured etc and said that I would be able to get the volume at the top that I want and would get a better cleavage (cos having tubular breasts I have no cleavage and they are very far apart). Saw Mr Lahoud at Transform last night and he also measured me and took photos and showed me exactly how my boobs look (which was a shock cos you always see it differently in the mirror than you do as others see you). He also didnt mention needing a lift and said that while only implants were needed I would not get volume at the top cos of the tubular and that implants would only make them bigger and wouldnt improve cleavage at all.
So who do I believe??
I am thinking of going to another surgeon, but do I want to confuse myself even more with yet another different opinion??

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Owwww how confusing!! I'd see another PS for another opinion.
Where do u live?
Maybe ask James the surgeon on here? Or make a consultation with him?
I went with Mybreast, they use fab Plastic Surgeons and are all over the UK now??
Good luck xxx

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Oh gosh, it can be confusing hun but I would definately speak to another surgeon or have a word with james (the forum surgeon) you need reassurance and hopefully once you feel less confused by the contradictions, you'll be more comfortable with it all.
Good luck hun and let us know how you get on. x

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
Heya :)
I had my op 7 weeks ago for asymmetrical breasts with the smaller one being tubular. I was originally being seen on the NHS and when funding was cut, I booked with the surgeon I had been seeing. I wasn't happy with what he was going to do (under the muscle with uplift) and was recommended to my surgeon Nilesh Sojitra. He did overs (which you need to create the round shape) and although he planned a lollipop lift, in surgery he decided not to do it as they looked ok. They look great (though still settling) and I can't believe I don't have that awful tubular shape anymore!
Please go and have more consultations as not all surgeons are breast specialists and you should go to someone who has experience of reconstruction and tubular breasts. I paid a lot more than a standard BA but it was worth every penny!!!

Re: Tubular breasts - need an uplift?
That is so confusing!!
Well when I went to my first one I was told to have overs to get rid of the tubular shape and it would take awhile for it to fill out, he didn't really mention much else!
Not going to my next one till 1st march but I will post up what that one says when i've had it! Hope it wont be as confusing as yours.
Good luck
