Scars to good to be true at 4 weeks???
Hi there, I'm exactly 4 weeks post op after having 230cc under the muscle via crease incision. I am really pleased at the way that the scars have progressed (would like to post photos but not exactly sure how to???). I am just worried as to whether there is going to be any deterioration of their appearance, as a lot of the pics that I have looked at on the internet in the first few weeks/months, the scars seem to be redder, thicker, lumpier etc. I am going to start using bio oil at 6 weeks after seeing my PS and maybe silicone sheets. Am I right to be concerned that they may get worse before they get better or are things only going to improve from now on. If anyone could advise me how to post a pic I will do because I would really appreciate your comments. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think they look great for 4 weeks post op!!! xxx

Hi hunnie, you can't post any pictures to the site, it isn't allowed. You will need to use on online photo sharing site such as Picture Trail. You need to create an account with them, then upload your pictures to an album and then protect the your account with a password. For additional security you can also password protect each album which you create if you so wish.

I was really shocked at how good my scars looked as early as 10 days and found they have only got better over time hun.

I think everyone is different hun but mine were great (just a fine line) at 3/4 weeks, but as the scar tissue builds they have changed in their appearance. The concept behind the oil/lotion 'massage' is to help break down the scar tissue. So when you are advised to start massaging the scar area (by your PS) then it will most certainly help.
They do tend to go through the Red/Raised stage but with massage and time, they will fade.....
I went through my 'red' stage at about 6 weeks but as I said with massage they have started to look better again and continue to fade by the week...
I'm sure you will still be happy with them in the coming months hun, My PS told me recently that by the time I get to the 6 month mark, I won't be able to see them at all.....

mine were really nice and neat and feint even after a few weeks. If your surgeon is good for scarring, the implant wasnt too massive, and your body scars well naturally, then youre going to get good results

I did have lumps in my scars at about 4 weeks but these have gone now and were never visible, I could just feel them. Just depends on your surgeon and your natural healing ability hun.

Congratulations hun, it sounds like you surgeon has done a good job, and on top of that you have very good skin!!!
I'm sure they will only get better with time, and I hope to find myself in exactly your position after my op!!

Hi girls, I have not put my pics up yet but will try and get it done over the weekend. It may just be me thinking they look great at 4 1/2 weeks. I mean I was expecting them to be a lot worse. You can let me know what you think. I will PM the password etc when I have done it xxx

Re: Scars to good to be true at 4 weeks???
Thanks, I am doing really well. It's like they are already a part of me. I got the crease incision under the breast. I wasn't given another option. I think the only other incision site for silicone implants is under the arm but I don't know if this is done regularly in the UK. I think most of the other incision sites are mainly for saline implants but I could be wrong. Good luck for your surgery xxx
