Not long.......need help with profile!!
Hey Girlies,
I thought i'd just about made my mind up on size, now i'm worried about the width of the implant!!!! How do i know what will be best or do i just leave this up to my PS?
After looking through the Allegan Inspira info/catalogue i've noticed that certain size implants only come in certain profiles/widths, i'm worried the size i pick may be the wrong width !!!!!
Any help would be great

Hi lovey, yes it can be confusing - i would worry less about the volume (cc) and concentrate on the projection - your surgeon will know which diameter to choose as this is dependent on your rib cage size and shape - knowing the diameter and the profile you want, the surgeon will then be able to choose the volume (and hence the overall size). If you have shown him the pictures of what you would like to be, then you should be fine.

The projection is also dependant on the cc!!!! And i haven't a clue what projection i want!!!! Does it really make a massive difference? I know the sizes i'll have will either be high or extra high!!!

It's likely that in recommending a size for you, your PS has already taken into account your natural breast width diameter. If your bwd is say 13cm, and full projection will give the best result for you, then the Inspira textured round implant recommended would be a 450cc (see tables in catalogue). If you decide to go with a smaller implant, then you would be going for a slightly less wide or less projecting implant. Like carol says, show the PS your pictures so that he understands the final look that you're after xx

Try thinking about sizes another way - the cc is dependent on the width and the projection. Implant width x implant projection = cc volume.

All my PS said was for my frame i could go for 350cc up to 450cc for it to suit me and that he would recommend i go for at least 400cc, the rest is up to me!!!

The difference between (for example) the Inspira textured round 345cc and 450cc is 1cm in width and 0.4cm in projection - not much at all. Your PS has hopefully recommended these sizes based on your frame. I can only speak from my own experience, but when offerred similar sizes to you I eventually decided on 450cc to give a little more fullness to the sides - but not too much! I didn't want to go through this and still be sacrificing shape at the side to create a cleavage in the middle when the mood takes me!

Oooh, that's up to you hun! I was just saying that with some implants the difference is really not very much, it depends on what your surgeon is using. I'm a bit of a details person, my PS gave me the codes for the implants he recommended and I was able to look them up in the catalogue. Perhaps you could contact your hospital and ask them to give you the stats for each of the implant sizes, i.e. widths and projections - then you will know exactly what kind of a difference there is - but again that's just me! We're all here for you babes, but ultimately the decision is yours xx

I wouldn't worry hun, I'm sure your surgeon has decided on the profile thats best for you, and you can discuss it with him on the day, make sure he understands you and you him.
