What happens at the surgical consultation?

So, I have my first surgical consultation tomorrow and one on wednesday. When I met with the PCCs I asked lots of questions, but didn't think to ask what exactly the surgical consult involves.

I've got the consultation notebook thingy from here (which is awesome by the way!) and have a list of other questions I want to ask.

But how much poking and prodding can I expect? Does the surgeon basically go through the things that have been discussed with the PCC, like what you hope to achieve etc and what is do-able for you?

I think it varies a lot depending on the surgeon hunnie. For mine, he had a quick grope (sorry meant examination :heehee: ) then a pinch test of the skin in the surrounding areas, took some photographs of me and then sat down whilst we discussed the various options which I could have and the maximum size he could do for me.

Yes I had the same sort of thing, top off, pinch test, discussion on size, trying on of implants, discussion on complications

Same here hun. Lasted about 20 mins. First question was "what size roughly are you looking to be". He also drew all over me with a make-up pencil to show me about incisions and stuff... erm... also I showed him all of my "ideals" pics, so that he had a good idea of that shape I want to achieve. I wish I'd have thought to take a sports bra or something though so I could "try the implants on" properly... depends on what your surgeon is happy for you to do I guess!!

Oh yes, I forgot about the discussion regarding complications that could happen - but to be honest, I was so excited at that stage about actually going ahead with it, that I must confess it went in one ear and then straight out t'other :doh:

I feel much more prepared for it now, although still very nervous- I've never been topless infront of anybody before I always wear very padded bras(sometimes even 2) just so it looks like I actually have someting up top, I know it's what the surgeons see every day and are used to seeing a total lack of boobs but I'm still so embarrassed by it and am just stressing myself out over nothing!

I'm sure you didn't mean it that way hunnie, but you must admit it does sound comical Hysterical

I know a bit how you're feeling and I was a little shy, but once there, I just decided to be brave and stripped off my tops without thinking about it too much as I knew that this was the only way I would get what I wanted.
Be brave hunnie, I promise you it will be fine - just think of your new boobies whilst you are doing it and it will give you the courage to do it Hug

Aw hun, I know exactly what you mean. I felt exactly the same way. I'm sure your surgeon will make you feel completely at ease before they mention the examination though!! I was stood there for a good 5 mins in the upper-nuddy, but just avoided making eye contact with anybody and that seemed to help a lot!! hehe!!

This is the bit that will freak me out lol the surgeon looking at my monstrosity lol and the the bit where I'm naked on the operating table and as soon as I have the GA all the professionals rip of my gown and see me naked lol....I know I know it must happen to get them done... I just hope the surgeon is delicate with me lol
