Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
Cool it, guys! We were annoyed because mrsrimmer attacked someone else's opinion, and now we're attacking hers!
Peace and love, people!
(I also love the extension excuse XD if I had my own place I'd definitely use that!)

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
I got a job and worked hard for the things I want. But if I'd had a loan I woulda taken it! Why the hell not? haha
I 've got over 4 and a half grand in my account. I've been watching it grow and grow over the past year and a half whilest I ate rice and beans and sausages. Now it's gonna DISAPPEAR! It's a bit daunting isn't it? It's nice staring at that big number in your account. It's all yours! And then you go and do something stupid like give it away. LOL But It'll be soooo worth it. I know it. Congrats LL x

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
I'm a single mum and don't receive financial support off anyone. I've worked up until recently and decided to go back yo uni to retrain this year. There's always the extra guilt being a single parent, wondering if you've given your child as much as the other kids who had two parents so I've always overcompensated and my daughter wants for nothing.
I've gone back to learn and for the first time, am in a financial position to carefully budget and do something for myself for the first time in years and sometimes I do think I'm being selfish spending my loan on myself but I can't stand it when people criticise, assuming we're lazy students who should get jobs to pay for things, when in 3 years we will have a decent enough job to pay our loans back. It's not as if we've just been handed free money!
Rant over! Sorry for hijacking your thread, just felt strongly about the situation!! Spend your loan on whatever the blinkin hell you want lindylou, I bloody well am!!!

02050mama...... FYI, I have a house, a car, a job, a degree, I'm married, no children and now I have big boobs, I do not for one apprecite your comment about being jelouse as I may not have a degree? Who the f***k cares if one has a degree or is a bin man, I was merely expressing an opinion in an open chat forum. I am not going to sit and argue my opinion with anyone as it is merely that

Okay I fess up.....I was the one that put it on my mortgage! :wavey: ...I too have 2 kiddies and am a single mum and my children don't want for anything (except for maybe a half-decent daddy....but that's a different story! lol).....I say 'go for it girl' to you LindyLou....and please girlies, let's not turn against each other, MrsRimmer was just expressing an opinion!
As for watching HUGE amounts of money go out of your account - I sat on the proceeds of the sale of one house for a month in my account before I bought my new house....try watching nearly 5 zero's worth of £ woosh out of your bank in one day....it seriously stings! lol) :tears:

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
lindylou22- congratulations on getting firsts in your assignments, it's not an easy thing to do for most students, let alone having little ones to look after and (cheesey as it sounds) you should be very proud of yourself.
I'm also a student and intend to use some of my student loan to pay for a BA-I work part-time, so that's where the rest of the money is coming from.
I don't see using the student loan as being any different to taking out a loan/credit to pay for the BA (which, being a student is unlikely to be possible as you normally have to be working full time to get loan or credit!). Student loans still have to be paid back like any other loan.

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
Oh no!!! I've spent all day building up the courage and just called them to be asked to call back in the morning as my patient advisor isn't in at the moment!!
It's just such a crazy mix of emotions knowing that it's about to be made real... I made this thread in the first place cause I knew you girlies would all understand the emotions I'm going through... I can so relate to feeling a little bit selfish to those of you with kiddies... but I always put my kids first and they just don't NEED 4k spending on them right now. If they did then I would!! (can you tell I've had this argument with myself enough times haha!!)... thanks to you all I'm excited again and not just feeling sick though!!! JT.... at least handing over that money you know you have an investment in your home... I can't envisage anyone ever buying my implants off of me in the future!! (ew)

Oh nooooooooooo - I know how you feel LL. Once I had finally made up my mind to start calling round after umm-ahhing it all day, I had finally lost track of time and it turned out to be 5:45pm and all the clinics just had answering machines turned on LOL
Needdless to say I felt a huge anticlimax, so I know exactly how you must be feeling right now

MrsRimmer-I actually apologized somewhere back at page two-a few posts after my original-I ALSO got carried away with my opinion, without thinking about your feelings-I just thought it a bit harsh to rain on one's parade when so happy, and perhaps it could have been put differently-BUT..YOU ARE RIGHT-Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it is hurtful or starts a sh!tstorm-
I took it too far by speculating why it bothered you, and I am sorry for that-Just got defensive and carried away is all-This is a support forrum, not just a chat forrum, and I was trying to support my fellow BJSF member, (not not at her request AT ALL either, she actually Pmed me to tell me to not go over board on her behalf) Again, I apologize-

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
Lol hun, just don't want you to get yourself into trouble as you're a lovely lady, although I get why you felt defensive!!
I think the point is there are a lot of us on here in a similar position to me, and maybe also many of us who come here because it's like an escape for us... perhaps in our daily lives there are a lot of people who disapprove of what we're doing or who we can't talk to about it but on here we get to share our experiences with other girlies who can relate! At the same time of course, we're all different; having an opinion such as that given by MrsR is fine, but they should be shared tactfully and with respect to the feelings of the intended recipient...
... and as you rightly said this is a SUPPORT forum, so lets all have a big hug and move on!!

Re: Just checked bank and almost fainted!!
Just opened credit card bill with new boobs on (the amount of money on statement not actual boobs - but wouldn't that be good if they put a picture of what you spent the money on as well as the amount! :boobchick:
Anyway - thank goodness we got an interest free credit card, at least we have 6 months left to pay for them and a regular savings account matures about then.
