Self Conscious with New Boobs
Hi All
Pre BA I was never self conscious of my boobs, very confident with my body. Now that I have boobs I find that I'm kinda self conscious of them. Maybe cuz I haven't told everyone?? I'm not hiding it but, I'm not announcing it either.
Has anyone else gone through this?
thanks

Totally natural hun. I was exactly the same. You need to get used to your new shape first before you start showing them off to other people.

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
I felt like everyone was looking at them at first (even those who didn't know) and it made me very self conscious. Once I'd got used to them I didn't notice anyone looking and felt happy showing them off
Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
I am going through the same thing especially at work!!! I find myself wearing overly conservative clothes and keeping my coat on a lot. Or a scarf helps hide my new boobies. I am also still in a sports bra so that helps squash them right now. But I completely understand what you are going through.

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
I honestly don't know how I feel - I must be a little self concious as I've only told 2 friends - but OTOH, I can't wait for summer where I can wear something a little more revealing.
I've just rejoined my gym after a 6 month break (I was just too busy with things during late summer/autumn and the work in the garden was keeping me very fit) - so I just wonder what my friends there will think once I get into my swimming costume to go for a swim EEEEEKKKKK!!!

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
I didn't think I would be self conscious either but surprisingly, I was and still am, a little. Most of my loved one's know about them so I don't really need to 'hide' them, but I am, strange isn't it?
Maybe once I'm out of my sports bra (they do naff all for your shape)I'll feel a bit more confident about showing them off. It's a bit like buying a new open-top car and not 'posing' in it the first time the sun comes out!!!!!
And my first car cost me less then these boobie babies.....

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
Also, I've told a few of my friends at work and they all said fantastic & think it's brill, and now I'm doing it they are thinking about it - it's like I'm the first one to take the leap and that makes it OK for them to think about it. Those of you who haven't told anyone might find people really interested and jealous if they do find out!!
That said I haven't even had the op yet!!

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
Totally normal, you just have to get used to your body being different, people that are close to you may notice something different about you but may think you have put weight on as most of the time people know there's something different but can't quite put their finger on it and in most case too polite to say anything and eventually to them it just becomes the norm.
When I had my first op I only told close family and a couple of friends no-one a t work knew and when I went back after about six weeks only one male colleague asked if I had put weifht on because I looked bigger up top, so I told him yes I have put weight on but not through over eating I've had an op, he was gobsmacked but thought I was very brave to do something about my issues.
I have since moved jobs and told no-one had a reop and gone bigger and no-one seems to have a clue.
Like you I am not a shamed that I have implants but I did it for me and no-one else so don't feel that its anyone elses business, but if someone were to ask me I would be totally honest about it. xx

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
It's so normal! I was ok at first......I had my first op in the April and was fine until I went on holiday in the may and a Turkish lady who was clearing the glasses from the pool side said...."you have very large boobies for a petit lady!" my heart sank and I thought OMG are they really that big, do I look silly, is everyone thinking what your saying!!" I then was very conscious but I soon got over it! I thought I got these for me and for nobody else so think what you like!
Once your used to them being there this will all be a distant memory and you will feel so comfortable in yourself! X x x

Re: Self Conscious with New Boobs
Hi xbeautifulx
It is a Soleil Sucre which I think was from Next, but I can't fit in it now as I have filled out more and only just managed to squeeze myself in when the pic was taken just a couple of weeks after my op but I was desperate for a new avatar and to wear a nice bra, even though it was only for about 10 mins.
Thanks x
