looking for button up PJs??
Hi girls - I'm looking for button up PJs before my BA (in 9 days time!!) but not the winsiette (?) type. The only button up ones I can find are the horrible brushed cotton ones with revolting patterns on - any tips? Also looking for loose button up tops for my couple of weeks post op??

Re: looking for button up PJs??
I gave up looking for nice pj's, so I just wore my husbands t-**naughty word** cos they were plenty big enough to be able to put on without too much arm raising....and I looked damn sexy!

Re: looking for button up PJs??
how far did you have to lift your arms then - I thought it was a complete no no to lift them - or is it just that it hurts if you do?

Primark! They have quite a few cute pairs which are cotton not thick brushed nylon or fleece. I got a grey/white striped pair but they had polkadot and plain ones too :) Oh and they were super cheap too ;)
But I only wore them for a week, and normal clothes were fine after a few days. I also had overs though so didn't have any arm pain etc.

Re: looking for button up PJs??
You can get decent ones from tescos as well. Too be honest
two days after op I was wearing ones I pulled over head, I had
partials but found a size bigger I could put my arms in and just
bend arms and pull over head without lifting my arms up, it's easy
and you get used to doing it. Take care and hope everything
goes well x

Re: looking for button up PJs??
LOL Sherri - that's exactly how I coped as well (laid the top out on the edge of the bed, then knelt down and kinda swam into them LOL). I bought a pair of cheap button up pj's from Sainsbury's that looked just about half decent - but I can't stand wearing pj's, so after a couple of days they were washed and consigned to a drawer (just in case I am ever hospitalised in the future LOL)

So Primark it is then - only had time for a v quick look pre Christmas so will go back tomorrow - not planning on wearing them for more than recovery period, so cheap is good! Also really good to know that it probably wont last for as long as I thought - thanks girls xx

Lovely in theory but not so much in practise as they are so slippy and slidy! When you are sleeping 'propped up' you slide down very easily and it hurts trying to pull yourself back up again .
It really depends how much you want to spend. If it is just for your op then go for some primark ones but if you want some that will last cyber jammies do really nice ones but they are pricey (although you may get some in the sale) - John Lewis sell them.
I bought some la senza ones and never used them I was happy in my vest top and pj bottoms.

Re: looking for button up PJs??
I dont know if you have a T.K.Maxx by you but they have some button up or even zip up PJ's in there sometimes. Have to agree primark is fantastically cheap for them, they dont last long though, they either shrink or go really baggy after a few washes.
Re: looking for button up PJs??
I borrowed a pair of cotton button up PJ's from my daughter but didn't get round to trying them on until day before BA and they were really uncomfortable around the front seams - so sent my husband to Sainsburys on his way home from work (to join the queues 5 days before Xmas!!) and he came back with a brilliant cotton button up front nightshirt (I'm more of a nightie girl than PJ's anyway) - tried it on and the seams were fine but in the end I just kept on the hospital gown as it was easier (being open at the back) to lift up to go to the loo in the night in hospital.
(Until you have experienced it you will not know how hard it is to go for a wee, whilst holding up your drains/and or drip bag (if you have any) reverse onto the loo, (not forgetting to get loo roll before you sit down - because you won't be able to reach it otherwise!) I don't think I could have coped with taking down PJ bottoms aswell!!!
Now I have another nightshirt (Xmas pressie from M & Co) and like Carol said above you don't have to put arms above head to put daytime tops on anyway - although I sometimes need help getting back out of them! Good luck for next week xx

Thanks for this advice hattie, was gonna get some silky ones from M&S tomorrow, but now changed my mind. Have ordered some cyberjammies online today from the House of Fraser sale - do love a bargain!
