HELP! BA 2 days ago - need reaasurance! Empty HELP! BA 2 days ago - need reaasurance!

Post by beckyboo 23rd December 2010, 9:54 pm

Need some reassurance! Had my BA (550 overs) on Tuesday morning, Back home in sports bra. Just been sat on sofa and although not in huge pain, feel very tight at the top of left boob. Had a gentle prod and heard a squelching sound. Is this probably just fluid from swelling? Made me feel very shaky as suddenly panicing. Also, not been advised to massage boobs at all and yet keep reading on here how important it is?!?! Help!

Hun, we all go through the panicky stage in the first few weeks, your right tar squelching is from fluid and can be from the antibiotics they use sometimes to flush put the pocket with. Believe me you will hear some weird sounds coming from your boobs, mine felt and made noises like a coffee percolator, but it's all perfectly normal. If in doubt about anything give your clinic a ring to settle your mind. My PS told me to massage after my first visit with him, but some surgeons recommend that you don't massage at all. I would wait until your first appointment with your surgeon and ask him then if you should massage. I hope this helps.
Congratulations on your new boobs and try not to worry but if in doubt ring your clinic.

hi hun, as Shelle say's all sorts of noises, reverberation, tingles and even fluttering can come from your boobs in the early weeks, it can be quite scarey but it's usually normal. You will be advised at your first post op appointment regarding massage, some surgeons tell you to but equally others belive it is not necessary, it really is different for everyone. Please don't panic!!! If your really concerned talk to your clinic - they are there to help and advise you along the way.

Congratulations on your new additions babe xx

Hi hun, boobs can make all sorts of noises in the first couple of weeks, dont worry, it's normal. As for massage I wouldn't worry about that until you are instructed to do so by your surgeon or nurse at your check up

The squelching is fine hunni and the massage, well, with smoth implants it was considered an important part of the healing process, but with the new generation of textured implants it's not felt to be necessary unless specifically instructed by your surgeon to do so. xx
