progress report on my lovely boobies
Hello lovely ladies,
Thought i would give you all a progress report on my boobies.
It has now been 2 months and 3 weeks since my reop due to pip rupture in my right implant and i think things are going very well.
Boobies feel very natural, but pert and are feeling very comfortable. No shooting pains now and no discomfort. I was worried that the right side would sag a little as before with the ruptured impant, it did hang lower. I am happy to say it is back to how it should be. Also, i had a slight ripple (about the size of a pea) on my left one which my surgeon said would most probably remain, i am exceedingly pleased to say this has now gone completely, if i spent half an hour trying to find it, i might feel it slightly, but i am not going to.
I am very pleased with the feel of the Natrelle implants and am happy i could (just about) afford to pay the extra for them. I am also very happy with my surgeon.
Also despite smoking, my scars are doing ok, i have noticed a difference in the recovery time due to smoking so would definately advise giving up for good.
OH is very pleased, as they feel much better than the nasty PIPs!
I wanted to let everyone know how well things are going. I was scared when i found out and very upset that i had to have another operation. I am out the other side (for now) and it has all been worth it. I wanted to reassure others going through the same, or worse, that things will get better, it may not be what you want and it may be very difficult to get to a stage where you are happy, but it will happen eventually.
Hope all the PIP ladies are doing well, and if anyone needs a chat to let off some steam please pm me. Big hugs xxxxxxxx

Hi Vix, Really pleased for you, i am having pips removed on the 20th December and am having major pains at the moment. Cant confirm if i have a rupture as doctor wouldnt refer me said i had to pay private for scan so i thought might as well put the money towards new boobies.
I am having major pains in right breast and truely hope that these go once the pips have been removed. Take care x

Hi Sherri,
Good luck for the 20th, not long now! I had a silent rupture so didnt have a great deal of pain, but felt very tired and drawn and had noticible sagginess from the rupture. Once i was wheeled up to the ward and sat up in the room after the op, i couldnt believe how much healthier i felt, it sounds strange having just come out of an operation but i felt amazing and when i went back to work everyone noticed a difference saying i looked brighter, i hope you get the same. I dont care what anyone says im sure i can attribute many of my tiredness problems to this.
I hope all of your other pains go too and wish you a fantastic recovery xxxx

I feel so much better:)
I had my PIP implants removed on the 14th December - like Vix I feel so much better than I have done for the past 4 years. My left implant was ruptured, right across the front, and the surgeon thinks it may have been ruptured for many years! I also had another excision of my lymph nodes which had a huge silicone lump in them, identical to the one I had removed in 2007.. scary. In October I sought the advice of a specialist doctor as I was fed up with having no energy, aching joints and continual cramps in my left hand and arm, I now think this was all down to the PIP Implants. Like everyone in this situation I was worried sick by this situation, but I am so pleased I made a decision after my ultrasound (which showed shadowing around the left implant), to act quickly and get the operation over and done with. Finding the money for the op was an issue but one managed to overcome. I think your health and peace of mind is the most important issue.
Anyway I am feeling good, still a little sore, and how I hate sleeping on my back! but it will all be worth it in a few weeks time, and at least I have used the Xmas holidays to take time off work and recover. Good luck to all you other ladies in the same situation and think positive - as they say " they are better out than in"! x

Thats great Camilla, congratulations on getting rid of the nasty PIPs, like you said definately better out than in. I didnt have travelling silicone but its funny how you mention cramps in your arms, as i had terrible cramps in my forearms and hands, which has dissapeared since having them replaced. I suspect we will never have conclusive results on what they could have caused but i know my body, and there are definately a lot of things i was having that i do not have now. xx

Progress on MY lovely PIP free Boobies
Just over two weeks of PIP free life - I can't believe how good I feel, I have not felt this well for years. All the pain has gone from my arm and hands. When I had my stitches taken out I was shown a photo of the ruptured implant - OMG it was quite disgusting bright yelllow in colour and completely ruptured, I am totally horrified by the thought of this having been in my body for the last 5 years! My new boobies feel really soft and look fabulous, hopefully this is third time lucky. Still a little bruising but nothing to speak of. Happy New Year to you all, and if you have still got PIP implants I implore you to have them removed asap. I am getting excited now about going out to by some new bras sometime soon
