Wired and push up bras
Just wondered how long it would be after my BA until I could wear wired and push up bras? I know I have to wear a sports bra for at least 6 weeks, but I'm so used to having wire or padding of some sort in my bra, I don't reckon I'm gonna like having to wear non-wired ones for too long!! And I've shopped around and I can't see any I particularly like the style of. I've read some surgeons say up to a year!!!
I'm having overs too, will that make a difference?

Hi honey - everyone is different but the norm I would say is anywhere from 4 -6 weeks BUT some surgeons insist on longer. It's certainly not worth going against your surgeons advice so whatever he/she decides is right for you - I would stick to it. I am 4 weeks post op and still in the ugly sports bra...hoping I get the all clear to wear underwires in 3 weeks when I see my surgeon but if he says I have to wait although I will be gutted I will follow his professional advice.

I think the norm is about 4 - 12 weeks, which really does go very quickly. It's worth it just to make sure those new boobs heal the best they can. After this period you can wear push up/ underwired etc, although you may find they aren't very comfortable at first and you will have to get yourself used to wearing them again. You will be surprised at how much you love your sports bra

Its really best to wait until youre healed properly hun to save you from spoiling your new additins. My surgeon said 6 weeks in te sports bra day and night and then onto other bras when he checked me out at six weeks.Good luck x

Best to go by what your surgeon says hun. Mine says for me to wear my sports bras for 3 mths and then I can wear underwires from 3 months onwards. Take care xxx

I had to wear a sports bra for 6 weeks. I was dreading it but you do get quite attached to them. I think most surgeons advise somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks. Best to follow their advice so your boobs can heal. Someone pointed out to me when I was having a little tantrum about the same thingthat I will have the rest of my life to wear sexy bras and 6 weeks is a small amount of time for perfect boobies.

Nope. LOL
What your surgeon says goes sweetie and if he said you'll be in your sportsbra for 6 weeks, then 6 weeks it is hunni. Not many of us particularly appreciate wearing a sportsbra (until we wear underwires hahaha) but it's something we all have to endure to get the lovely boobs we paid for. It soon goes over though hun xxx
