Help! I have a cold and my BA op is in 4 days time
Cant believe I have just developed a cold and I am due for my op on Saturday.
I havent said anything to them yet as I am hoping it will be gone by then and I cant bear the thought of having to postpone and wait...it already has seemed like forever!
Do you think it will be alright to go ahead with the op if i still have a bit of a cold if I dont feel too bad?
Any comments?

As long as you don't have a chest infection and your breathing is OK you'll be just fine.
Have some hot honey and lemon drinks babe, eat well, sleep well and just generally look after yourself, the honey and lemon will do you the world of good... a lot of ladies get a little cold in the run up to their BAs, I think it's due to the stress leading up to the op.
Just take it easy sweetie. xx

I got a cold in the week pre op too hun and was so stressed. Lots of rest and it should clear. Like cookie says, as long as it's not a chest infection you should be fine.

Im sure you will be fine. Eat lots of fruit and veggies, and rest and steam your face. Just be good to yourself and i am sure it will clear up xx

Hi Derbylou. Hopefully your cold will clear up before saturday. If not your anaesthetist will probably want to know if you have a raised temperature and /or a productive cough. As an operating theatre manager thats the questions i would be asking you before your operation. hope this helps. get well soon. x
