NOT HAPPY WITH SIZE....WHAT TO DO?! Empty NOT HAPPY WITH SIZE....WHAT TO DO?!

Post by ceejay 4th November 2010, 1:31 pm

Hi Ladies

Please have a look at the email I have drafted to my surgeons secretary regarding my re-op and size issue.

Can you give me any feedback or suggestions how best to approach this!

Thanks
CeeJay

"I went for 3 fittings at 4 weeks post op and was fitted as a full B cup in 2 fittings and just reaching a C cup in 1 fitting.

I decided to leave it until my 3 month appointment sure that once settled this would change and yesterday was refitted at the same 3 places as a boarderline C cup in 2 places and a C cup in another!

I feel quite disheartened at this - although I am ok with the size personally, I do feel they are smaller than I expected and was definately clear that I wanted to be a Full C cup to D cup and that was what I paid for however I dont think I have got that.
When I tried the implants in a bra on my intial consultation they definately appeared to be bigger than they are in reality.

Dr Sojitra was sure that a 300cc implants would take me to a full C cup but it doesnt seem to have.
My left implant has dropped and softened however the right implant is trapped by the muscle and has an oval appearance. Could you also ask Dr Sojitra whether this could risk the implant being out of shape when it's re-positioned?

Could you forward this email to Dr Sojitra for me with my thanks - I am not doubting him what-so-ever I think it is more to do with me being of an althletic build and having under the muscle implants. I suppose what I am asking is would it be possible to have a re-op to achieve the outcome I wanted and asked for a Full C-D cup instead of Full B-C cup?"

Hi ceejay are you just asking for a re-op because of the size, or are you needing a re-op due to one not dropping?

If you're asking for a re-op purely for the size issue, I don't think there's much chance of them doing it for free no matter what you say to be honest, cos they never guarantee a size only estimate, and you are pretty much the C you asked for.

If however the surgeon has said you need a re-op because of the implant not dropping, you could certainly ask for the size to be changed at the same time, but expect to pay for the new implants at least. So I'd just enquire what costs would be involved if this is the case.

Sorry you're not happy, it's a really common problem though, wanting to be a bit bigger, and I've never heard of a free re-op purely for that. Good luck, I hope they come back with a positive answer for you.

Hi ceejay
Sorry to read your not the size you were hoping for I can understand you feeling disappointed. Having read your email I don't know that it is clear what you are looking for from the surgeon/company. You do mention towards the end that you are enquiring about a reop but throughout the email you say you are ok with the size???
I think you need to clarify if you are unhappy with the result or not.
Whatever the outcome you are absolutely right to feed back your feelings.

If you're unhappy with the resulting size hun then at no point in your email should you contradict yourself and say - "although I am ok with the size personally" trust me, this is the only thing the clinic will read and if you're personally OK with what you have got, you have no need of a re-op.

State what was discussed (you will result in a full C/D cup) state what you have (a C cup) and make it clear this is not what you paid for or discussed at your pre-op consultations and would like another consultation with your surgeon with the view to you having a re-op to achieve the size you paid for.

Good luck hun. xx

They sometimes do. Cherry has just had her re-op due to her being so unhappy with the resulting size not being what she requested pre-op. xx

I agree with cookie if you say in you email you are happy with the size then they wont do a thing. Personally I dont think many companys or surgeons do a re-op just for size (without you paying again) Cherry is the only person I have every heard of. Good luck. xx

I believe Cherry had to pay a proportion of the costs for her re-op.

Yes she did have to pay a proportion... after a very long and draining battle with the company.

Hi hun sorry to hear you aren't happy having read your email I do feel you may have to be a bit firmer to get your point across and like Cookie said do not state at any point that you are ok about anything. Just stick to the clinical facts what you asked for what you were told and what the outcome is the only feelings mentioned should be that you are unhappy with the result.

Did you only have the choice of one implant size at the time of your op and did your surgeon say at the time that this was all he could fit in.

Good luck huni and keep us posted how you get on xxx

Cherry went with Transform hun, she payed what seems to be common parctise now for Transform re-ops and payed a portion of the price. She did not pay for the entire surgery. x

Cookies right, stick to telling them what your unhappy about and don't put anything in writing that they can quote back to you saying "your are happy with the size" especially if your not, which you don't seem to be.

Also, one of the other ladies said that you should be a bit firmer, I agree with this to. If a company can read into your letter thinking that your a bit wishy washy (sorry that not meant to be rude xx) they will take advantage of this regardless if you are in the right or not.

As the posts just of last are taking a turn towards ladies being unhappy, maybe someone who has got experience in all things boob related and can write a good letter, could draft one and this could be used on request, if the mod's thought that applicant qualified . Not everyone can put into words what they would like to say.

I can write letters(with the help of spellchecker!) but unfortunately am no good on the boob front.

Post by Josephine 5th November 2010, 2:34 pm

I do a lot of writing in my job so I'm quite happy to draft a letter for you hun. Just let me know the rough details. I also know a lot about consumer rights - the Conumer Act etc - so I would be tempted to put that in the letter too. For all you other ladies I could attempt to do a generic one that could be used if necessary. Let me know what you think.

Overall, and even though most of us are happy with our new boobs, I do think the BA industry uses the fact that we all hate our pre op boobs and that most of us would like to have our BA done in secret. I think the industry needs a proper clean up so that we will know more about our rights and also how to pick the right clinic. In any other industry - take financial services for example - there are clear regulations set out, but I feel that a lot of people are left on their own should something go wrong. I am tempted to write something for DM or Sunday Times on this - not slating boob jobs at all (after all, I am a convert and much prefer my new boobs) but to give girls out there proper advice on how it works. Rant over! :-) xx

This is so true, sometimes when you read articles in the papers your lead to believe that you've committed some criminal act. Still saying that, I'm keeping my secret!

Hey hun, I've drafted a rough letter for you, but if you want to send me a few more details I can add them for you such as what size you were and what you wanted to achieve. As the ladies have already stated you need to be firm but also clear as to what you want to see happening. Get rid off all the emotional wording, after all, this is a business transaction that has gone wrong ie. you paid for a service but they failed to deliver. I've also pasted in a link below on how to complain if you wish to take this further. xxx

[
i]Date and place

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you in regards to my breast augmentation with surgeon x on date xxx.

In the consultations (put dates here) prior to my surgery I clearly stated that I wished to go from my pre-op size of xxx to at least a xxx. I am afraid to say that this has not been achieved and the service I've paid for has not been delivered.

It was not clearly communicated to me beforehand that a certain size cannot be guaranteed. The surgeon also failed to listen to what I wanted as a patient and as a customer, resulting in a dissatisfactory result. As I am sure you are aware, the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 states that a dissatisfactory outcome as a result of a surgeon’s failure to carry out any work with reasonable care and skill mean I would be entitled to compensation. I do hope this matter can be solved without having to go down that route.

I would like the opportunity to meet with the surgeon (put name here) and see how he could rectify this problem and discuss a possible re-op.

A copy of this letter has also been filed with the Care Quality Commission.

I am looking forward to hearing from you, and I do hope we will be able to solve this matter as soon as possible.

Kind Regards,
Your name [/i]

That's great, I still need to think you need to be quite firm in writing or otherwise they will use it against you. Tbh, most of us are happy with the outcome so this will only be necessary in a few minor cases but I'm happy to help as that is part of what I do for a living. Post by angelemma 10th November 2010, 10:01 pm

Hi CeeJay

I just saw your post and the reason I am replying is I am having Mr Sojitra in 5 weeks. I have already been driving myself mental over the size issue and now reading your post I am more worried!!

I told him I wanted to definitely be a D cup and he said that he uses a sizer in surgery to determine what size implant to use, and as he is restricted by my smaller boob it will depend on what he can fit in there. My nightmare will be to wake up and have two the same size as my current larger one (I have asymmetry). Did he tell you what size he was going to use on you? From what I can see of your stats, you have the same back size as me - and that's what's worrying me. All the girls on here seem to have 30-32 backs and on that 300cc is going to create much more volume.

I am sure I will be super happy to finally have 2 even boobs, but considering the amount of money I am paying I want to be happy!

Have you heard anything back from him yet?
