getting dressed post BA
Hi girls, I know it probably sounds like a really silly question but how long did it take you lucky post BA girls before you were able to lift your arms to put your tops on?!
I have a few button up tops handy for after the op but as it's getting really cold now I was hoping to be able to get into my lovely cosy (sports bra hiding) jumpers pretty sharpish!
Sorry for the daft nature of my question!

No questions a silly one!! I think it took me about a week tbh. And after that it was easy to get things on over my head but did need help getting back out of it. I did have unders tho so don't know if that makes it a little more difficult.

Thanks for replying girls, that's great news. Didn't want to go spending boob fund on tops that button up! Lol feeling positive now, sure my OH won't mind helping me out of my tops for a while!

Re: getting dressed post BA
I wore button tops for about 3 days then needed help getting things on anf off for about a week but thats because I had a nerve problem on my right boob, if both had been ok it would have been about a week before i went solo.

Ha ha. Another one of those 'no one size fits all' questions or so it seems.
You weren't hoping for a straight answer were you? lol

I was ok after about 3 days to lift my arms to get in and out of tops, but couldn't life them up completely if that makes sense.

any answer is a good answer! well...providing nobody turns round and says 10 weeks post op and still unable to dress themselves! At least I now have an idea (a rough one!) about what i'm in for. :flowers:

Re: getting dressed post BA
i could (gently) by the next day. I wasted money on a button up top that i only wore on the day of the op that didnt even cover my strapping

I got dressed on my own the following day and I had unders, just did it slowly and carefully and I was fine.

I also didn't really wear the button up tops I bought, I didn't have the need for them really.

That's something else to be aware of actually. If you have strapping across the top of your boobs you might want tops that have a high enough neck line to cover it. I ended up pinching my daughters scarves to hang down my front and hide it till it came off about a week later.

Re: getting dressed post BA
It took me a good week before I could raise my arms, I didn't leave the house at all during that time though so it didn't bother me. Like you I was a winter op so I stuck to wearing vest tops big enough for me to step into rather than go over my head and wore the long cardigans over the top. xx
Re: getting dressed post BA
I don't know the answer to your question but just had to share a bargain with you I found yesterday in Primark! Gorgeous velour bottoms and top (zip up ) for £9!!
Couldn't resist buying one for after my op
