Good question, I was wondering about that too. I always sleep on the side but I guess you have to sleep on your back after... Ladies, who've had your BAs, how long do you need to sleep on your back for? xx

You'll be asked to sleep propped up (head and shoulders raised) until the swelling has subsided.
Most of us buy a V Pillow to help keep us comfortable during this time and use a hot water bottle on the small of your back as it can hurt your back sleeping in this position too. xx

I used a single quilt and lots of pillows underneath which propped me up, and then I could half lay on my side My surgeon never told me to do that though, only did because of what the girls said on here

Ah yes this is probably the worst part as it is hard to get comfy (still is for me) especially if you are a tummy or side sleeper. You sleep kinda propped up and you dont really move around easy, I find I wake up everytime I need to reposition.
I kinda angle my pillows behind me and in the early days I put a pillow under my knees I find it helped my lower back, and yes definately a V pillow I am still using it! I also used one of those little neck pillow (the ones people use on planes) it helped support my neck in the early days when i was most comfortable sleeping quite upright.
Its a small price to pay though for our new assets :flowers:

Re: How do I sleep lol..
I slept propped up I found the higher the better as the morning boob hit hard if I slid down in the night. Put a pillow under your knees & bum to stop the sliding down the bed part and I found a pillow under eash elbow helped as well. Only now at 3 month do I sleep on my stomach.

Re: How do I sleep lol..
I slept really well because i was so worn out with all the worrying about the op & the G.A!
I had to sllep upright for about 2 weeks & used 2 normal pillows & two v pillows..........I used the v-pillows for about 3 months & found i couldnt get to sleep well once i stopped using them as i was so used to having them by then!
I would definatly try & stay upright for as long as you can take it for ( it didnt bother me!) because the one time i woke up 4 days after my op & i had slid down the pillows in the night & woke up thinking ' whats that throbbing pain & I was flat on my back & boy were my boobs swollen! I couldnt get over how swollen & painfull they were so the need to stay upright in the 1st week or two is a great one!

I slept upright for a couple of weeks (head and shoulders up). It helps with the swelling and I didn't sleep on my side for a few weeks.

I slept propped up for 2 weeks, 2 pillows and a V pillow was enough for me. After that I slept hugging a pillow on my side.
