Will you look bigger with overs?
Hello ladies,
I've just been chatting to a friend of a friend who had her boobs done back in July and she was saying that unders will be less obvious (and look smaller) than overs. Is that true??? I'm getting slightly confused. Also, most of you seem to have had unders, but my surgeon (and then one I saw before him) both said I should have overs. I'm not completely flat but it's not much there - I would say a large A (if there is such a thing :-)). Is unders nicer? Advice please???
xx

Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
If you have enough breast tissue then overs is usually what is advised and you are able to achieve a natural result from overs as you can with unders.
It has been said that you lose 10% of the implant size when having unders but from seeing the results of women having re-ops here changing placement from unders to overs this is not always true. Some gain a cup size from the placement change, others find no change in their size after the change whatsoever.
I have overs, I had the choice to go to unders when I had my re-op and I chose to stick with overs as I like the look I achieve from them and I have enough breast tissue to carry them off. xx

Hey, to be honest I'd go with whatever your surgeon thinks will be best for you. If you've had 2 independent surgeons both advise the same placement than I think you're pretty safe on the placement part.
I had unders but that's because I literally started out with nowt and didn't have very much breast tissue so I would haven ended up with the posh spice looks few years back which wasn't the look I was after.
Cookie is right re. The reduction with unders which might be why you hear people talking of overs looking larger although to honest it all depends on you!
You'll notice on this sight that a lotof the ladies start off with similar sizes and although may have the same size implant what they end up may not be same due things settling differently etc

Yeah, it's a bit confusing!! I didn't realised there is so much to think about before the big day, eeek. I think I will be a right nightmare for the next two weeks, feels like I'm about to sit an exam or something. xx

Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
I think overs are only obvious when someone who hasn't got enough breast tissue to start with has them and you get the stuck on look. I think they look just as natural as unders and often have more natural movement than unders as they aren't held down by the muscle. My only concern was with sagging but as my implant isn't too big hopefully it won't be too much of a problem and with unders your natural breast can sag too. I preferred overs for me but there are plenty of girls on here with unders who look amazing too. But I definately disagree when people say overs look more obvious or faker. Surgeons tend to know what placement is best and if they say you can have overs then you must have enough tissue at the top of your breast to conceal the implant. xx

This isn't a great pic of my boobs but you can see that my overs give my boobs a very natural slope. no obvious roundness at all.
Re: Will you look bigger with overs?

That's more to do with the individuals anatomy though rather than the placement. You can have two girls have the same placement, the same size implant, the same stats and they could still have a difference in resulting size due to differences in breast tissue, the shape of your chest wall, amount of body fat etc, all these are factors in determining your resulting size - If you definately lost some size with unders then members like our Admin nads who had a re-op from unders to overs would have increased her breast size, she didn't. She remained exactly the same size after the op and then there's our mod Sally who did the same, she too changed from unders to overs but she did increase bust size.... it's all about the individual I feel and not the placement - proof is in the pudding as they say... xx
Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
shes as small as me though cookie infact shes tiny so she really should of ended up as big as me she even says i wish i went to your surgeon as he wouldnt go any bigger than 410 and she wanted much bigger as she was lapdancing then when she had them done

You 'must' have had some breast tissue to have enabled you to have a large implant with overs sweetness, your friend obviously didn't, so before either of you even started, you were always going to be bigger busted than her with the same sized implant even though you have similar stats, 'you' had more breast tissue. No matter what, unless she'd had a bigger implant than yourself, she would not have achieved the same resulting size as you from the same sized implant. Sure you may both be tiny but there's alot more to gaining your resulting size as I said above sweetheart. xx

Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
I was told its not how much boob you have its the amount of tissue you have at the very top of your breast that determines whether you have to have overs or unders. Thats why they sometimes pinch and measure the tissue at the top to see if you have enough to cover the implant x

Yeah, that's right Peachy, if you have no breast tissue or very little the implant will be evident and give a 'fake' rounded look to the breast.
If you have enough breast tissue for overs it creates a kind of padding around the implant so the implant edges won't be seen enabling you to still have a natural look to the breast. xx
Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
Hi,
I had 410 overs. I was a B cup to start with. I'm really happy with them, they look really natural.
As long as your surgeon has advised that you have overs, then I think you should follow his advice.
As long as you have enough tissue to cover the implant and you don't go for a size that is too big for you, you should get a natural look regardless of whether you have overs or unders.
Good luck x

thanks sweetie, I'm still a newbie :-) so not allowed to ask for pics. Be great to see once I've been promoted. He he. Soooo stressing about this whole boob job thing today, I feel like I'm about to freak out. Once they're in that is no return so to speak. Has anyone on here regretted having them done? xx

Ah okay hun. I'm sure that it's okay because I've offered and you haven't asked but I'm sure that one of the mods will come along soon and let us know.
I had a massive freak out moment a few days before my op. I think it's normal and that everyone does.
You just need to think about how happy you will be afterwards and the positives that will come after your op. For example, fitting clothes properly, new bikinis and bras, increased confidence. I could go on!
Mr Khan is a brilliant surgeon, you're in good hands. I've only ever had compliments about my boobs. People can't believe how natural they look!
I don't think that many girls on here have regretted it

Thanks hun, if I'm allowed to see that's great especially since we're having the same surgeon. Which hospital did you go to? I'm still stressing really badly and it hasn't helped that I've just given up smoking so my nerves are all over the place. Wanted this for so long, but now when it's so close I'm really really scared!!! xx

Re: Will you look bigger with overs?
I went to The Heath Hospital in North London.
If you go into the breast augmentation stories section and search on "Dr Khan" all of the girls stories who had Dr Khan (me included) are on there, so you can know what to expect.
Well done on the giving up smoking!
