Pain after surgery
Hey :)
Might be a silly question but are you in pain straight after you wake up after surgery? or are you still a bit numb? I read somewhere that they numb the breasts in surgery (not sure if thats true) I know when I had my wisdom teeth removed i couldnt feel any pain until about 12 hours after because the numbing stuff was still working (I know they are very different operations lol)
I am just wondering if i will be in pain straight after? I am staying in a hotel after my op with my mum and partner taking care of me (as my op is in sydney and I live a few hours away) so I am just worried that I will be wide awake that night in a terrible amount of pain :(

Re: Pain after surgery
I wasn't in pain when I woke up, it only started getting sore about 12 hours later and I asked for pain relief then. So yeah I think they must do something to stop you having the pain straight away. It wasn't terrible even then, I felt ok enough to put my make up on in the morning and get dressed with no help. The 3rd day was actually the worst for me.

I wasn't in pain straight away, just groggy from anaesthetic and I think I was given pain meds while in recovery as well. I was given paracetomol routinely while I was in overnight and could be topped up with tramadol if necessary. I was fine to dress myself and put make up on in the morning though.

Oh thats good then, i was stressing out a little bit that i would be in agony straight after to op. I feel better about that now, hopefully all the pain medication will help with sleep too :)

Re: Pain after surgery
Hun youll be fine,
I stayed in a hotel overnight the day of my op as i was a day case & i felt just a bit sore and very tired! They should give you some painkillers which will really help.
I felt more uncomfortable about 3 days after my op once the G.A & Morph painkiller was out of my system.
I then had a 4 hour drive home the day after my op to get home & it really didnt hurt at all, i took two of my own v shaped pillows for the hotel room & i also used them in the car on the way home to get comfy
x

Re: Pain after surgery
Hi
I havn't had any pain at all, just stiffness for me but i had overs, my daughter had unders and she said she was in agony when she woke up, said it felt like something heavy was sitting on her chest, but she was fine within a wk.
It will all be worth it in the end. and that's what the painkillers are for x

Yes I think he has one of the best Reps in NSW... I am havn partial unders and a lift with 500cc (I have 2 bubs that have left my boobs in a sorry state!) I am staying at the Urban hotel they recommended it at the clinic and they do a surgury stay rate.
So r u north or South of Syney I am in the Wollongong area.
Its nice to find someone else going to Tavakoli its reassuring!

Re: Pain after surgery
Decisions, I am aiming to be a DD I was that size prior to kids and now only a saggy B Dr Tavakoli wants me to have the partials and I am happy with that as the top of the implant is covered my muscle to give a natural slope off the chest and the bottom is not so there is a nice fullness under the nipple area. I too am totally obsessed with everything boob at the moment and thank goodness for this forum because I was driving everyone mad talking about it all the time.... now I am just on this forum like 3 times a day! :teehee:
I agree the drive home is going to suck! I only have 2 hrs but I bet it will b both painful and nauseating!!
Jene: A rough 1st night then? Did the pain meds help? Glad u r feeln better now!

Re: Pain after surgery
Oh nice, where did you get them done jene? thats good to hear both you and tinks arent in too much pain :) I wish you both a speedy recovery x
sarah you will be back to your pre-baby boobs very soon :) unfortunately for me I have never gotten past a B cup (even when I put on weight) so it will be very new and exciting when i get them in!
I have a wedding on the 31/10 (so 2.5 weeks after my surgery) and I have found a nice dress that will cover that hideous recovery bra hahaha!

Re: Pain after surgery
I'm on day 3 today and it's sooooo stupidly sore... beginning to think that I've made a mistake! At least it's not just me...
My Anaesthatist (how do you spell that?) told me that waking up would be all a bit anticlimactic. He was splendidly right... I just kept thanking everyone for everything and thinking how attractive he was (morphene is strong!). The only issue I have had is today when I would gladly pay anyone to remove them from my body! Help! :tears:

You may have a bit off the post-op blues hunni. I felt really low after my op, I wondered why I'd put myself through it. I started to feel alot better once I'd finished the antibiotics and I also cut down on the pain killers.....I don't think they helped with the way I felt.
I'm sure you'll feel better soon. Take care hun.
