surgeon change!!
hello!!!
i am in a predicament!.. i have my surgery booked for september the 29th really soon!!
i have already payed up and chosen the surgeon!.. i really liked him and he gets the look i am after , however i initially wanted my incision in the armpit.. i have chosen anatomicals and under the muscle.. i also have a very slight frame and virtually no breast tissue.. he does not seem happy about the armpit incision. he says that this may spoil the end look by implants being un even !..and also because the implants i am getting are teardrop.. this also makes them more diffucult to insert through the armpit .
is this correct?
if so then i am really happy with my surgeon and will go ahead with his preferred option of the breast crease. i am fine with this method too.. but just worried about scarring!!!
. if there is a chance i can have it through the armpit i would like to know from anyone out there if it is possible!!. if it is would i be able to change my surgeon???

Re: surgeon change!!
I haven't had and am not having under the armpit incisions but from researching my own ba I think it is an altogether trickier op and many ps prefer not to do it due to complexity. But I could be wrong surgeons generally will tell you what it realistic in terms of desired result and if your ps thinks it mightn't work as good for you then I would be inclined to tow the surgeon knows best line BUT you could always see if you can squeeze in a free consult somewhere else before your ba just to see if other surgeons feel the same way or ask James the friendly BJSF surgeon what he reckons???

Re: surgeon change!!
Hiya, If its the scarring your worried about I wouldnt worry. You will hardly notice it , I have to pick my boob up to look at the scars and they are fading lovely now. At the end of the day I beleive the surgeons are the experts, so would go with thier recommendations. On the other hand if you are not 100% convinced it wouldnt hurt to get a 2nd opinion.
It may of course just be last minute nerves, I know I had them xx

Re: surgeon change!!
I had crease incisions and scars are fading nicely already so if it's that you're worried about then don't. Like phoebe, I have to lift up my boob to see the scars.
If you are happy with your surgeon I would say you should follow his advice, surgeons should advise on the best way to get the look you want. if you're not happy with your surgeon tho then it might be best to get a second opinion.

Re: surgeon change!!
I remember asking my surgeon about where the incision would be and he said to get the best results he would reccommend in the crease. He said it can be difficult to position the implant exactly how you want through the armpit. I can say i am very happy with the results and could not see the scar (i have had a reop since so now have healing scars), they went very pale and i had to lift my boobies up to even see them. If you are in doubt though it might help to ask the surgeon on here his opinion, he is very helpful xx

Re: surgeon change!!
if you're worried about scarring then I wouldn't go for armpit as you'll be able to see it in sleaveless tops, whereas crease is hidden.
I've also heard it's harder to get them symetrical through this incision location.
Personally I'd listen to your surgeon. good luck xx

Re: surgeon change!!
Just caught up on this post. Glad you decided to go ahead with the crease incision. I had my implants this way and the scars are tiny can barely see them anymore. xx

Re: surgeon change!!
I think the crease incision is the least noticeable as you will be able to see the scars under your armpits but under the crease they are very discreet. Certainly on this forum the crease incision is the most popular, I think it is the easiest to recover from surgically and the least complicated to perform for the surgeon.xxx
