Pre BA and cant sleep
Hi all,
I am still 4 weeks away from the big day and I am sooooooo nervous! Everytime I am not distracted by something (such as kids) I am thinking about it with a knot in my tummy! The worst is at night I toss and turn struggling to get to sleep because I am thinking about it...My yougest still wakes up once at night and it takes me ages to fall back to sleep then too!!!
I wish I could just go tomorrow and have it done and over with so I can stop thinking about it!
I think because I have to have a lift it is causing most of my anxieties... I am worrying about complications, and most I am just scared they are not going to look the way I have envisioned them. I am a bit worried about size as well, I am concerned the implant we have chosen is too big...
I am sure that it is perfectly normal to be anxious I just dont know how I am going to make it 4 more weeks with these feelings and lack of sleep! :pale:

Ah hon try not to be anxious about it and look forward to it. I had a uplift too and its been the best thing ever. Fair enough there have been times when I have been uncomfortable but thanks to painkillers no pain! x

Hiya Hunnie. I had an awful time sleeping during the run up to my BA so i called my clinic and they suggested that if i wanted to i could use "Calms-Sleep"(I had to stop using it the day before surgery!)
It definately helped me relax and not be soooo stressed-but make sure you "okay" it with your surgeon hun as they all have different rules!
hope this helps babe. Xx

Aww sarah. It's such an exciting and worrying time at the same time that we all get anxious. Calling your surgeon to see if you can take anything is a good idea. A good trick to help sleep (works for me anyway) is to breathe really deeply, hold it for 4/5 seconds, then slowly breathe out and keep doing that.

I am glad to hear u worried u were being selfish due to having lil kiddies... I too have lil ones at home and I am never ever away from them
I do everything for them so even though I am lookn forward to some me time I feel a lot of guilt thinking I am being selfish.
Thanks to all u ladies for the support... I think i may call my ps to see if I can take something for those really restless nights.
xx

It's normal to not sleep, your mind is just working through all your anxieties and excitement.. I worried endlessly. You will be Ok and can catch up on all that sleep when you come out of hospital. Make sure someone is at home to support you with the little ones, you will really need it xx

Thanks!
I do intend on resting and relaxing post op as much as possible my mother-in-law whom is a wonderful help is staying with me to run the house and care for the kids as long as I need her. I am trying to think of it as a little recovery holiday.

Yes that's it, a little holiday!! get your Vpillow on a chair in full view of the TV, remote controls next to you, a little coffee table for your magazines with coaster at the rteady for all the hot drinks you will be brought, lots of comfy tracky bottoms and tops clean and ready, some of your fave snacks already in the fridge... come back from hopital, plonk yourself in that chair and stay there for 10 days!!!!

Re: Pre BA and cant sleep
Hi sarahdawn, its great that you have someone to look after your kids for you after your op. My Mum looked after my kids for the first couple of days post op and my hubby has been off for last couple of days it really helps and I've had an easy recovery so far.
I'm not a very good sleeper and things tend to go round and round in my head. I started a diary on here to get some of it out and it really helped me. I've since looked back at how I felt before and can't believe it but its all part of the journey and when you come out the other side you will be a happier you.
I worried I was being selfish as I have 3 small children one whos only 7 months and when I did I thought of a bit of advice Kittie gave me, she said my kids deserved a mummy who is happy with her body and they do and so do yours x

Aww I'm touched you remember and glad it helped you peachy. Your kids will be fine sarahdawn and they do definitely deserve a mummy who is happy. A diary does help as well. Gets everything out.
