Carrying Children???
Hi, I am really worried about having breast implants and my carrying my twins! I am sure that you have to wait some time after op for lifting anything and I will organize myself to have help in getting them in and out of bed but am worried about how long it will be before it's safe to carry them. They are 14 months and walking perfectly but need help up stairs and general. Does having the sports bra help with this or can you just not use any upper body muscles at all?
I think it will be very difficult! Has anyone had this dilemma? I don't really want to wait as my boobs after breastfeeding twins are empty socks...honestly!

Re: Carrying Children???
Hi hunnie, my youngest was 14 months after my 2nd BA and to be honest i tried not to lift her at all if possible for at least the first week! I got hubby to lift her onto my kne for cuddles etc.
If you have got someone to help you for at least a week after then i would try not to lift them at all if thats possible as it can be very uncofatable and your body will be trying to heal a lot in that time.
Personally i wouldnt say i couldnt have lifted my daughter as if i had needed to i would have but i would really advise against it hun for as long as poss x

Re: Carrying Children???
Hey lovely.
What placement are you having? The reason I ask is because if you're having overs the muscles aren't really affected and you can get back to normal activities fairly soon, say two weeks.
If you're having unders it may take a bit longer before you can lift things.
xx

Re: Carrying Children???
I had overs and couldn't even managed to put my 2yo son's socks on at first, luckily my boyfriend was there to do everything that I couldn't. I can pick up up now if i'm careful just lifting him into his cot and what not but still havent changed his nappy or anything like that incase he kicks me in them. I can lift my 8 month old no probs. If i feel any slight strain though i will put them straight down. I'm 6 days post-op.
Do you have anyone round to help you? xx

Re: Carrying Children???
I regularly look after my best friend's 18 month old daughter and found that providing I bent my legs and picked her up 'properly' I was able to cope after 2 weeks... comfortably. I had overs btw.

Re: Carrying Children???
Thank you so much for your replies. I just spoke to Hassem Nathan at Transform and he said I'd be fine the next day "not throwing them in the air and catching them but lifting them carefully" I REALLY DOUBT IT! Maybe he's too relaxed about it but I will see him tomorrow and you all can let me know if it's all a load of rubbish and he just wants more patients!

Re: Carrying Children???
You know what I had 410 overs and my ps said I would have no problems picking up my 21 month old. He just said the worst scenario would be a kick in the boob. I have done everything as normal so far and I am 6 days post op. Having no problems. No pains. I was really worried about this too but all has been well. I think it might be an individual thing too as well as placement.

I completely agree, as I said the other day I couldn't even manage to put socks on my little one the day after. I didn't think i would be that bad having overs but it was a nightmare. xx
