Metformin & surgery?? Empty Metformin & surgery??

Hi girls,

Does anyone else take Metformin? I suffer from insulin resistance due to having PCOS, I take Metformin to treat this. I'm wondering if I will still take it the day of my surgery? And if so, how, if I'm not allowed to drink any water?

I'd check with your surgeon honey. I think I still took my meds (although they are for something different) on the day of my surgery. I made sure I got up early enough to be able to have a drink of water.

I know I could take them in the morning if my admission time is in the afternoon, but if it's morning then I can't drink anything from midnight the previous night. I guess I'll have to ask my surgeon next week :0 ) xx
