No one has reacted to me like that. Most people have been supportive and the few perplexed looks I've had have not gone further than: "ooh, I would never have the courage to do that". Maybe these ladies had negative thoughts but had the decency to keep them to themselves. No one with a bit of brains dares criticising other people's personal decisions when they don't harm anyone else.
Some of those who love you might warn you about negative reactions, because unfortunately it can happen, and they want you to be prepared so that you are not too hurt. However this lady really doesn't sound as if she's warning you out of sincere concern, but out of bigotrism and jealousy.
I'd go on holiday, be proud of my boobs, show her that her comments don't touch you in the least, she'll just be green with envy - and she'll deserve it.

I think this anti-cosmetic surgery prejudice is quite a British thing. We do have a reputation, in the states particularly, for being a bit odd in our willingness to embrace 'naturalness' . Think of Austin Powers' teeth for example! Hysterical

Thanks girls, what an interesting thread Jemma, and it came just at the right time for me!

Decided I'm not going to flatter her by replying to her rude and downright spiteful emails as I think it will only just spark yet more. (and also don't think it will achieve anything, some people are just so set in their ways and judgemental they are blinded to anyone else's perspective anyway). So.....I am going to ignore and gracefully move on in a much more dignified way! (and will keep all of your really perceptive reasons about why people have such negative reactions for the next time someone challenges me..)

Thanks for all your support girls, sending everyone a big Hug

Wow what a response to one of my posts. I'm glad I asked now.

I was actually Reading a post yesterday about botched boob jobs and clicked on the link to another site and people were giving their opinions to celeb boob jobs and the people on there were absolute bleeeeeeps.

I couldn't believe what these peole were saying about women who have BA's.
Saying they are "vain bit*hes" I got sooooo angry but I chose not to rise to the bait and let it go.

So sorry littlemisstiny you are having family trouble regarding your BA. Some people have their head too far up their bottoms.

Theres some stooopid website, something like 400 reasons not to have a boob job...its a huge shame its one of the first things that come up when you type boob job into google...when I was researching my BA this was NOT one of the things I wanted to see!

I try and steer clear of the negativity no that I've decided its what I want.
