Yes, one has ruptured and the other has deep creasing, I am booked in 25th August, it's been an on going problem since last November, I am just glad to have a date, and a 0% interest credit card, I am hoping to get my money back but worried that if I do anything before the op it will cause more problems.

Hi Bubblegum

Yes the ultrasound picked up the rupture but then I had to have an MRI to check to see if there was any leakage, and that the lymph nodes where no affected.

How long did it take for you from referral by Gp to get seen and did they refer you on for an MRI or did you have to pay for that privately?
Thanks x

Can I ask please, how long did you have to wait for the ultrasound appointment to come through and did they refer you on for an MRI or did you go private for that?

When I first noticed I had a problem I went straight back to my origional surgeon at Transform, I knew it was my implants that were the problem.

18 months previously I had found a lump in my breast and went to the docs who referred me to an NHS hospital for a scan and I found them very judgemental of me and didn't seen used to handling patients with breast implants.

Because of appointment with my surgeon and having to book directly with the private hospital it did take quite a while approx amonth in between various appointments, ultra sound and MRI. I went private for everything but the private hospital didn't have an MRI machine for breasts and the private hospital referred me to the Weston Park Cancer Hospital in Sheffield and so far no bill for the MRI (fingers crossed they have forgotten about me). It did cost me £264 for the ultra sound.

Hope this helps

bblondiiie how did you find the MRI? I have mine in just over 2 weeks and have never had one before. I've watched youtube vids and heard the sounds. How long did it take?

I'm not claustrophobic so I was OK, but its fine, you get some ear phones to wear and if at anytime you feel uncomfortable you just have to say, the girl that did mine kept asking if I was ok, she told me if it was a long or short scan, I was told about the noise, which is just a variety of hums, eventually if you put your mind to it you can make it fit a song (because I am meant to be paying for mine it sounded like the machine was saying "money money money" bizzare I know but I had to stop myself from laughing. Don't get me wrong though I was worried at the same time thinking about the results, but thankfully there was no leak and my lynph nodes are ok.

I had my MRI at the Weston Park Hospital and the staff were really nice and reassuring.

Good Luck

Good Luck with that one, I did the same and although they addressed nearly all of my points in the letter as to why I think I shouldn't pay, they came back with a big fat 'NO' and stuck to paying for the implants and I have to pay for the surgical team.

Hope you have more success.

That is SO shoite!

It used to be 5 years aftercare, I guess they grew wise to it and realised there was more money to be conned from us by shortening it to 3 years!

I havent got to speak to my surgeon yet, nearly 2 weeks on and the only communication I have had is with a customer service girl.

I am out of my 3 yrs aftercare, I did ask her what would happen if my breasts have ruptured. She said she thinks I would just have to pay for my implants but knowing the previous track record of the company I somehow doubt that!
I have now requested all the medical histiry, notes and photos from them... so we will see if they give me them.

In Australia if women have mid to top private health insurance we are covered for the removal and replacement and hospital fees due to the recall. My first surgery cost around $9000 and the redo will cost around $7000 it doesn't sound like much of a difference but the full price with this PS (a different than the first surgery) is $12000.
The PS I'm going to was actually my first choice but I was wooed by the cheaper price offered by the cosmetic surgeon - boy am I kicking myself for that!
This PS only uses Mentor (unless the patient specifically requests another brand) because from his research it is his most trusted brand.
