A bit of a worry!! Empty A bit of a worry!!

Post by anniexx5 6th July 2010, 4:10 pm

Hiya wondered if you lot could help?
When i had my consultation with my surgeon we decided on 460cc overs, which is quite a large implant for my size(im 32 aa) He said that even though i'm quite flat chested i have thick breast tissue and he prefers doing overs rather than unders, but he also said my breast tissue is thinner on my right breast in the center down the bottom(if that makes sence to you lot, A bit of a worry!! 991311 ). He still said overs though, and i want this size

Now i'm worried if i stay with this size, would you be able to see/feel the implant or even worse is there any possibility of the skin ripping??

Surely he would have suggested unders if he thought there would be any problems??

Thanks for your help.X

Hmmmm 460cc is a large implant, especially taking you from a AA cup!

I think hun, if I were you I'd have a couple of other consultations and see what others surgeons have to say hunni.

The fact that this surgeon 'prefers' overs shouldn't be a factor in deciding what is best for you - I'm not saying he's wrong in his decision babe, I'm just saying I think you should see a surgeon who is happy to give you unders or overs depending on what the best positioning would be for you to get the best results hun, regardless of 'their' personal preference of surgery. xxx

I agree deffinatly go and see a few other PS's. At lest then if they all say the same thing then you will know this PS has suggested the right thing for you. Its your body and your money and you need to be happy with every aspect. xx

I want big boobs!! lol,
I know the implant will be big, when i had the appointment with the ps i had on a 34d sports bra and the 460cc implant filled up the cup,(but not so much that it was tight) so based on the im guessing post op i'll be around that size, is that right?? However i'm not complaining if they are bigger, my only worry is can you see the edge of the implant??
As for my surgeon has has had alot of good reviews and i haven't heard anything bad said about him, He didn't say he wouldn't do unders just said that he prefers doing overs as there are less potental complications after, but that would all depend on how much breast tissue i had, but he said i had enough, just that my tissue was thinner down the bottom corner A bit of a worry!! 727885 .

There are just as many potential complications with overs as there are with unders sweetheart, none of this should be considered IMO when choosing a placement, it should soley come down to the best placement for you as an individual. Placing the implant over the muscle is a much simpler operation for the surgeon, it is not a 'better' option, in choosing the correct placement for 'you' there should be little risk of post-op complications no matter the placement. xx

As Cookie said, a surgeon that prefers doing one placement over another is probably doing it for his convenience, not yours.

You need the placement that's best for your breasts, not because a surgeon finds it easier. I'd go for another three consults to see what the majority say. If they all say overs will be fine, then great, but chances are if you're very small you may need unders.

As the others have said you need to find out if overs is a good choice or if your surgeon prefers to do overs. I had overs from a 32A and had 410cc, I had good lot of tissue and very thick skin and overs was suggested to give me the best look that I wanted, not because my surgeon prefered to do overs.
